Had a little cry when I went to make a tea just now.

He was part of one of the happiest years of my life, and it was all due to football.

I don't see how so many people are so happy/disconnected to the emotion. Right choice or not.

Wow  :-\ Thanks for the memories Rodgers... shit that it ended like this.

For all his flaws, I will always remember that season under Rodgers as one of the greatest years of watching Liverpool I've had.

Wish him all the best with everything in the future.

I've started this just to pay thanks to Rodgers. Ultimately I think it's the right decision, however Rodgers has served us extremely well and gave his all for us. We can disagree over tactics, selections, signings and many other things but at the heart of it all Rodgers performed to the best of his abilities.

The other threads will be a mash up of people bickering and talking about potential replacements, but I thought a separate thread to simply thank and wish our outgoing manager well would be appropriate. Do excuse me if you think otherwise.

Good luck and goodbye, Brendan. I wish you all the absolute best in the future.

Every word of this. whatever about anything else, he seems like a decent enough bloke, and he tried his best, that's all you can really ask from someone.

Did not see this happening this quickly. Will remember him for The Season. Best football I have seen Liverpool play, however ephemeral it was.
Good luck Brendan.

And now let's get the  club back on track.

He genuinely seemed to care and so it's with mixed emotions that I write this. He gave us a fantastic season that ended just a year and a half ago. I hope he finds himself a good job elsewhere and goes on to excel with the style of football that he represents. Best of luck to him.

Well put.

2013-14 was amazing; I echo most people's sentiments here.

Rodgers would make a decent candidate for the England job, post-Euros.

Just want to say all the best to Brendan Rodgers, I will never ever forget the roller coaster ride of the 13/14 season and all the emotions that came with it. I will never forget even with 15-10 games to go into the season the fans started believing we could finally win it again, will never forget the atmosphere that created where we were meeting the team bus outside Anfield to welcoming the players into the ground.

In all my time as a Liverpool supporter for over 20 years we have played the best most exciting football under Rodgers in that 13/14 season. He also came the closest of all Liverpool managers to winning the league it was just pure cruel luck in the end that cost us the league.
In reality Brendan Rodgers, the players, the fans and the club haven't really recovered from that and I think its time for a fresh start now.

We had some of the most exciting football seen at the club in years under his tenure, there were times that we were simply breathtaking.

Glad we gave him a chance after our difficulties last season and just sorry it ended poorly - I guess that's the nature of the job,  very few managers get to retire on a high.

I am sure he won't be short of offers.

Feel truly sorry for him. Acted with great dignity in difficult circumstances.

Considering everything that he has been through in his personal life in the last 4 years it is amazing he managed to maintain any semblance of normality in his working life. And when u consider that his job is keeping Liverpool fans happy...he deserves massive respect.

All the best to him and good luck in the future

Under Brendan we played the best football I've ever seen the Redmen play, the 13/14 season. So many good memories from that year, as well as heartbreaking, but this man got the best out of a certain strike partnership and got us as close as we've been to the title since we last won it, and for that I'm thankful.

Can't help but feel upset :( Good luck Brendan, YNWA.

Thank you for everything Brendan, 13/14 was the first time I truly cared again, wholly and truly every part of me was willing your boys on, you have no idea what that means.

I hope you go away head held high, proud of what good you have done, and take time to think about areas you can improve, and get to that very top level.

Best of Luck in everything Brendan, in life and in passion. I'm sure better days are to come than these.
