As last season I also thought I’d post a walkthrough for troubles, annoying things in the way, tips, etc., that might be useful for you:

- Having trouble with ads and whatnot getting in the way? Adblock Plus (for Firefox and Google Chrome) should do the trick. (If there are any ads left e.g. in front of your stream, just press the little x that appears in the window of the stream.)

- Having problems with pages/streams not loading or taking quite a while to load? I'd recommend downloading CCleaner: it's a good and easy to use software that can search the registry for errors and/or clean the internet cache, etc., which should make your computer and internet browsing faster.

- Are you abroad and you want to watch/read UK based pages (for UK only)? There are quite a few but Expatshield (Windows only, though) usually does the trick and it's free. What is does is that it assigns you a UK IP address, which means you can watch/read whatever you want from the UK, being abroad.

- Does AceStream do nothing but buffer for you? Perhaps this could help (Thanks indlfc for providing with the link and credits to mtty2465 in the wiziwig forum for providing with the settings):

1) In the settings you need to set the TS maximum upload speed to the maximum, leave the value "0" (default).

2) In the setting of TS increase buffer Live 2-3 times (20-30 seconds) or more.

3) Then, increase number of peers in 2 times. Maximum number of connections - 400, the maximum number of connections to the stream - 100.

4) If your computer is connected through a router, you must open port 8621.

5) Also, the router to enable UPnP, if it is off.

- Having problems with SopCast? Here are some troubleshooting on making it run smoother.

- Don't forget to download the latest version of SopCast! You could have problems with the streams if you don't update it. There is also SopCast for Mac!

- Do you want to watch flash streams on your iPad/iPhone? Try the Puffin app! (Thanks to MichaelA for confirming that it works)

- How do you watch SopCast through VLC? (Tip from the Wiziwig forum, thanks!)

It's quite easy to watch SopCast through VLC if you know how. Very helpful when you want to watch some specific channels which only work with VLC. You only have to setup this once and you can use it all the time.

1) Make sure to have the latest version of Sopcast.
2) Download and install VLC: VLC for Windows - VLC for Mac OS X.

3) Open Sopcast, and go to Options (at the bottom --> Option)
4) Choose the external player
5) Use my Own Media Player
6) Select VLC.exe (Standard is C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe)

7) Accept this, and restart Sopcast. Start a channel, wait untill it has buffered > 30%, and then select the button below;

Now it will open in VLC and you can see the channel normally. This can be done everytime you don't get a picture or you get a weird screen. Keep the trick in mind as you can need it quite a few times.

Or, Open VLC --> Open Network stream --> http://127.0.0.1:8902 and press ok. But SopCast and a channel should be running first (as usual)!

Not running smooth or you got issues? The following may help the smoothness of your stream in VLC:

1) Open VLC
2) From the VLC Menu select Tools
3) From the drop down menu select Preferences
4) From the menu on the left side select Video
5) In the display section uncheck the following two options:

6) Advanced Video Output (Overlay)
7) Use Hardware YUV->RGB Conversions

When they are unchecked, click Save.

Then close and restart VLC.

With the lads back in training, new threads of the new season emerging and we find ourselves at the dawn of what seems to be quite an important season I thought I’d continue where we took off last season (can’t let oddball be without streams now that he got rid of the Sky shenanigans, can we? ;) ).

As mentioned in the earlier posts, please feel free to come with any ideas/suggestions to improve anything and everything, they’re always much appreciated!

Need some streaming advice. I'm moving to the states for the next 12 months and need to know if the streaming's any different. I imagine it's more accessible in America as there are less laws stopping people doing it?

What's the best website for all the LFC matches, or am I just gonna have to watch it on firstrow all year? Any advice from watchers from across the pond would be most welcome.

Thanks

Anyone know if you can watch a live stream on LFC TV ONLINE on a iPad or iPhone? I know you can watch on demand videos on iOS but live stream?

Thanks for all the links guys, its very helpful over here in America. I am a bit confused with setting on SopCast on my Mac, however. I recently purchased it so I'm not completely comfortable with where everything is located and such.

When I open SopCast, I don't know how to find the option bar. Then I tried finding the tools in VLC and couldn't either. Does anyone have any ideas?
Sorry for the late reply, only just saw your message!

I have Windows myself so I don't know whether it's different on a Mac. In SopCast you have the Option button down on the right hand side; whilst Tools in VLC is in the bar at the top, in between Video and View (if it's Preferences you're looking for you can also press Ctrl+P - if that works on a Mac, that is). Did you try to mount SopCast with the Vlc player?

EDIT: Come to think of it, I've used a Mac about twice so far so I'm not really that savvy on Macs, but the option/tool buttons you seek after should be on the bar on the very top of the screen, IIRC.

I see the Premier League have won an injunction against firstrow, this means all ISP's in the UK must block it. They have also issued a warning to Pubs that only Sky or BT coverage will be allowed.

So now they start on the streaming sites and like the music and film sites people will find away around it.

Did see this coming as they're on about it every season, but I didn't really think they'd get it through just yet.

Don't worry mate, not really off topic :)

The Premier League is getting a record amount of money from TV rights this season, but at the same time it's more and more restricting the availability of the matches on TV. Doesn't sound right that. It will with time affect negatively on the Premier League's status as the number one sports product in the world.

This is actually what I feared would happen when I first heard the teams would get a record amount of money from the TV rights - more control in the hands of Sky et al and less availability for other companies to show the games. Not that fun if you pay to watch our games and you can't even see half of them.

Can you use the PuffinApp on an HTC phone.  Just got a new one so i'm not sure if I can get iTunes on it given it's a windows based phone etc and don't want to start pissing around with Apps if they're going to knack the phone up.  Or should this be in the Technology forum?

Several streaming websites are very likely to be blocked in the UK when the season kicks of as courts have ordered ISPs to do so. This is some kind of internet censorship and shouldn't be allowed.

Accessing the blocked sites is VERY EASY. The video below shows how this can be done in few minutes without downloading any software.

don't no much about smart tv,s but all my streams are flash based and your tv will not play flash. You could google how to play flash streams on a smart tv. Alternatively if you have a laptop you could link it up using a hdmi cable so that your laptop screen will bd duplicated on your smart tv. A quick google search on how to set it up

hopefully some one can help me out here please which will benifit us all. i noticed that some of you have different devices that you use to watch streams. my site is flash based so only a few of you will be able to watch them.i realy feel sorry for the guys having ipads and so on.reason being it wont work is because apple doesnt want flash software on its devices so your only way round is veetle app or skygo app. same goes for android. now for sopcast. im not a big lover for it but i have used it in the past. now to help some of you i need some one with expertise in installing software onto  a server. i dont quite no if or can sopcast software be installed to a linux server.if it can i need some one to help me out then i can put sop cast streams onto the site. if any one can help just drop me a message. i want to help you all out some way  or other.

NOTICE:
HD Streams on sr7tv  run at extremely high bit-rate meaning you will need a very fast internet connection to view them. Please do not complain about lag or buffering, use the alternative streams on the site. Also as fast as i get theses hd quality streams up on sr7tv they can quickly be taken down so if the stream does get taken down i will replace it with the best i can.

ok i may have found a solution. The video player that BT Sport uses  requires a Microsoft Silverlight plug-in http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/Get-Started/Install/Default.aspx install it if you havent all ready

i would like the opinion of members here please. a lot of you were saying the the pik was a bit choppy i think it may be down to overloading the server even though the band with is unlimited it may have caused the stream to be a bit choppy. or it could have been the streamers side, anyway im thinking of passwording the lfc live page just for lfc members. i just wanted to no what other members thought of this before i make the decision.

sr7tv is now membership only. easy registration or social login. ive removed a lot of channels that not many vistors are watching so may be streams  will be better. my server is going to get rebooted this week so dont worry if it goes down for a few mins.
thanks

I hope the mods don't mind me posting this here, but with UK ISPs blocking more and more sites, this might be useful for some.

To celebrate their 10th Anniversary, The Pirate Bay have release a browser that allows you to get around the ISP blocks - It's called Pirate Browser. and it's based on Firefox.

I've not used it and nor do I endorse it, but I read about it on The Verge and thought it might help - http://www.theverge.com/2013/8/10/4608504/the-pirate-bay-turns-10-celebrates-a-decade-of-aggression-repression-lulz

Clearly RAWK in no way condones the use of illegal downloads, or watching illegally obtained streams and is something we would never do. Copyright always remains with the holder.
Yep.
