Any decent bars on the Docks, purely for afternoon drinking (no food)?

It looks like Garlands may have a few problems.

Breaking news on The Echo website of a major drugs raid being carried out by 140 officers, targeting staff members who are, allegedly, dealing class A drugs there.

Funny that over garlands, be sad if it goes though. Town will be a lot less varied if Garlands goes

Pathetic. You won't find a safer club in the country than Garland's. I've been in there a countless number of times and seen not a single fight but a few lines get passed around and it's shut down. Compare that to Comcert Square where you have people full of beak anyway, fighting and throwing up like no tomorrow and it's all fine and dandy.

Really sad. I don't even like Garland's that much but the idea it's some sort of cesspit of criminality is absurd.

Away from Garlands, I went to Brewdogs last night (next door to Bar Bodega). Some cracking beers and a lively, vibrant environment. Definitely a place to go for a few chilled drinks.

That Berry and Rye is starting to get on my tits!

Went there again last Friday with a girl from work, not pissed, not dressed like tramps and only 10pm, yet was told to come back in 20 minutes by the doorman.

Its decent in there, I accept that, but why are they so funny about letting people in.

Is it not because they only let in a certain amount of people so there's plenty of space to move around inside. Then at a certain point it's one in one out etc. so they say come back in 20 minutes. I might be thinking of another place but i'm sure someone told me that was the reason.

Garlands was boss, haven't been for years but used to go every Thursday and Saturday. 140 officers is ridiculous for a raid on a Thursday night though, absolute waste of officers.

Got to get an overnight coach back to London after the Spurs game tomorrow. Departs around 2am, so dont want to be hanging around a cold bus station for longer than Ive got to. So was wondering if there were any late night bars/pubs open after midnight in the city centre. Most seem to shut at midnight.

Ended up in O'Neills on Hanover St. Was a good craic 4 a couple of hrs b4 my coach & 5mins from coach station. And a cheap lime & soda @ 80p a pint.

Can't stand Bumper.  Fucking barman robbed me of £20 and his manager protected him.  Despicable shitehole.

Love the Lomax though.  Yeah there's drugs but only if you want them.  Police just going after soft targets imo.

Going on a kind of Pub Crawl tonight round the city centre, will probably go to a couple of bars after too.

Anyone recommend a few decent places to go for the pub crawl?

Dale Street - Ship & Mitre, Excelsior, Vernon Arms, Saddle Inn, Rigby's, Lady of Mann. Take your pick.

To be fair, it's just another Sunday, so the bars that open will still be open, and do their normal sunday opening hours.

Town usually winds down at about 11.00 - 12.00 midnight on a sunday, with the odd exception where you can find a late late bevvy if you know where to look.

During the day, it will just be business as usual.

I think most are open later, as they apply for late licences on Sundays before a Bank Holiday.

New Irish Bar opened on Victoria St a few months back as well. Not tried it yet so can't really say one way of the other.

Liverpool being predominantly Irish ancestry, plus the amount of Irish either working here or students, anywhere that has the game on will have some Irish in attendance no doubt.
