If they're to win/challenge for everything he has to be able to trust his squad players in games like this. Same with Zidane and Ancelotti.

Lloris is better than him, I'd take Ospina over him as well, Navas, Casilla, hell even Cortouis.

Not even close. Has been seriously overrated just because Barca bought him after a good season.

That final year at Gladbach, he was distinctly average and actually hasn't improved his shot-stopping in the few years since.
