Can't think of many players who have come back from back-to-back-to-back ACL/Knee injuries and have gone on to as fruitful career as he could have.

Having a good engine and chasing down through-balls and defenders like a terrier is Danny Ings' bread and butter. It seems that he has had previous problems while at Burnley, so all the nonsense about Klopp's high intensity training being to blame shouldn't even be uttered in the same sentence.

it's very sad and I do hope the lad comes back, but coming back from injuries like this to both knees and being anywhere near the level you were is nigh on impossible I'd say. It's very sad for him.

My thoughts exactly. Career ending to have both knees this badly damaged. Most unfortunate.

MOTD and BBC Sport reporting this now over on FB also, the amount of "laughter" emojis and people saying things like "Another Loserfool player injured hahaha"

Makes me actually wonder if I like people sometimes, so many vile c*nts out there.

I don't think I've ever wished anyone injury, no matter their club and even if they are a massive weapon (Giggs you dick!) they are people doing their jobs and seriously hurt... mental reactions!
I don't know whether these people would act like that outside the internet or there are just vile c*nts as you said.
Either way it is disgraceful.

Is it ACL again? We saw what happened to Falcao after two ACLs, and of course we've witnessed Lucas's sharp physical decline after multiple ACL's... The most unfortunate thing for me is how early in Ings's career this is. He has barely had a career so far.

Fucking horrendous.

Regardless of whether he has "a future" with us, we need to provide the lad with the best care possible so that he's got a shot of going and having a decent career somewhere.

To work so hard to become a professional footballer who attracts the attention of a club like Liverpool, all the years of honing that talent and displaying that level of application, to then have it robbed from you for such a hefty length of time, or completely... gutted for him.

Falcao had ACLs in each knee, if I'm not mistaken, plus perhaps a recurrence in one knee, so three altogether. Lucas, I think, had recurrence in the same knee twice, but someone can correct me.

not that it's much consolation, but i think it's better to have it happen in the other knee rather than the same one. In terms of strikeforce we should be ok with the other 3 we have right now .. but it'll take a lot of faith from Klopp to take him into next season when we'll also have European games to play too.

Edit: for some reason i thought ACL was to do with the ankle ... so another knee injury but i don't know if classified as ACL

It's not, ACL stands for anterior cruciate ligament, it's purpose is to limit the movement (anterior translation) between the tibia and the femur... if I remember correctly (I have had this injury myself) so that the top of your leg and the bottom of your leg are aligned in layman terms and stable... (again, I think)

This time his new injury seems to be cartilage damage, so the actual build up of the knee.

Knee injury in the opposite knee to what was already damaged are very common, as when the injury in the original knee takes place your body compensate with weight bearing etc on the other leg.

Apparently it's a cartilage injury. Those can be particularly nasty. A relative had this in both knees and has never been physically the same, since. She is middle-aged, though.
