Its that winning mentality they`ve built up with twenty years of success. They know how to grind out results while not playing well.1-0 after 1-0 they`ve been constantly doing it.

Just as important is the inferiority complex most teams have.  They expect to win, sure, but most of their opponents expect to get beaten.  It's a tough combination.  We had it in our heyday, in fairness.

Yeah i know what you mean but look at their Central Midfield options its one of the most important parts in any side and its argubly worse than any of the other 5 teams!Would Carrick,Fletcher,Anderson,Cleverley or Gibson get into any of those other teams?Take Rooney out of that team and they are very average,so frustrating.

An average team with no Rooney, Hernandez, Vidic or Nani which we drew to?

8 wins from 11 games for Spurs compared to 6 from 12 for us.

We need a really strong run to christmas, a period we've often been poor during over the years if we are realistically going to claim 3rd or 4th spot.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Harry Redknapp takes some stick on here and at times it is justified but just out of interest would anyone have the transfer prices for their starting 11 tonight cause i dont think it would be that much?

Around 45 million.

They haven't been away to arse, Chelsea, everton or ourselves though, they've had if far easier IMO.

Sure Everton are shit they just raise their game for us and Spurs have already played Arse,City and United. We dropped points at home to Sunderland,Swansea and Norwich i cant see spurs doing the same.

We should probably just give up now.

I was planning on an early night. Fucks sake, get the bike out, I'll ride over and tell Kenny.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

We'd be up shit creek without those away wins to Chelsea and Arsenal. We're kind of banking on Spurs losing or drawing those games, because they make far lighter work of the 'easy' games than we do. Unless of course they come third and we battle it out for fourth

Definately shouldnt give up im just saying there is no point in listing how many of the hard matches we have got out of the way if we cant beat the shit teams, there is still a long wat to go but yes if we dont improve our home form then we wont be getting a Champions League spot.

I think that's actually quite a likely scenario.

We should just concentrate on our own results and don't expect any favours from Spurs. They're playing great right now, but they were rubbish for a while at the start of the season. If King and Modric can stay fit and if Adebayor can stay interested, they will do really well this season.

Watching them, albeit against a pathetically passive Villa team, made me think we need a lot more patience at home, more control of possession less, huff-and-puff, make it up as you go along attacking. More methodical and less rash.

Villa were disgraceful tonight.

looks like we have 4 teams fighting for 2 spots (I'm going to assume Newcastle won't keep up).  It's going to be a hell of a race.

Spurs will have off field distractions from jan, should go quite far in Europe and have a harder second half. We have to accept they'll probably be a good few clear of us come January but back ourselves to finish the stronger. Others are right though, at least it seems we are fighting for two spits this year.

They play all those games in this run.  We've almost finished our toughest spell (4 games left).  If we can stay within touching distance to them, then I think we'll be ok.

Steve Kean reminds me of a Death Row prisoner being grimly escorted by the guards, every week, down the corridor towards the chair...before getting yet another reprieve from the DA and being returned to his cell...

It'd be best for all concerned for Blackburn to get twatted 6 or 7 nil by someone/anyone and just get the inevitable over with...
They have life in them, they have humour, they're arrogant, they're cocky and they're proud. And that's what I want my team to be.

Tottenham would have a great chance of the title in any other season, but we have Man City now who will probably win the league for the next five years. Best league in the world.
