Top read, great guy, shame we lost him.

Not sure on that beard though, think it'll be bad for him tonight ;)

He was a superb player who we sold for peanuts and spent millions on an inferior player.  One of Rafa's brain farts indeed!!

Lets hope he has a stinker tonight!!

He wanted to go to Madrid, don't believe otherwise. As if Rafa would have sold him given the choice.

He's been very good for Madrid. Nice to hear him get a cheer when the teams were announced. He had a decent game sadly, could have put in an OG for old times sake the tight get...

Thought he'd a great game last night.  OK never got put under tonnes of pressure obviously but looked so comfortable in possession supporting attacks too.  Sort of take players for granted when they're here but I'm sure he's got better over the years for Madrid.

He certainly has.

He didn't used to be particularly good going forward, it was one of the reasons Glen Johnson was seen as an upgrade at the time (!)
In Madrid he has really learned how to contribute more to the attacking side of things. And grown a luxurious beard. And won shitloads of trophies. And probably married a supermodel. The bar steward :D

Married to Carlota Ruiz in July 2009 - don't know if it was before or after he left us.

Class player - knows his job in the team, he'll do the some of the donkey work and underhand stuff when it's needed for the team, but also keeps possession, offers as an outlet, and keeps things simple. One of the few fullbacks out there to have time on the ball and then uses the ball to good effect.

Underrated player for us, Real and Spain.

Comes across as a good bloke, has fond memories of his time here. Top beardage too.

Good luck to Bob - not that'll he'll need it much.

Was it Reading where Arby ran 60 yards and finished like Fernando Torres? His technique was underrated for sure. Two footed crosser as well. He's had a great career though so I won't feel too sorry for him.
