I'm being priced out of going the game these days as I'm sure many other passionate reds are. Only seat I could of got tonight was restricted view right at the back of the lower Anfield Road for 42 quid. Forget it. I know some terrible fans who are wealthy and only get their tickets through corporations that go for the food and the image more than the football.

Fair play to the group of lads at the back of Kop doing the Suarez song. Poor Scouser Tommy in the first half as well. A shame nobody joins in when we're not 3-0 up.

I've been going every home match for 7 years. I have never sung, groaned, etc. I just you know...watch the game...Occasionally talk.

What's so wrong with that? Fuck all. Stop your moaning.

Vocally supporting your team helps the payers on the pitch. It's people like you that have killed the atmosphere at Anfield. I bet you don't even sing YNWA!

Why? I have no obligation to sing, so I don't. fucking hell, I don't want to sing so I don't. I pay for my ticket like everybody else, if they want to sing well then fine. But I don't want to.

It's your loss. It's a long time since I've been, but the golden memories are of the atmosphere, of the songs and the chants. And that's when the football was consistently good. Pretty moves and goals? You can watch those on the tv. What you can't watch on tv is being part of the atmosphere and doing your bit in support. Like I said, your loss.

Exactly what I'm getting at. The owners don't give a toss about improving the atmosphere. All they care about is making money, everything else is ultimately irrelevant. They proved that by sacking the manager last year despite us winning our first trophy for six years. If they could have 45 000 day-trippers who'd spend £100 each in the club shop before the game they'd bite your hand off.

Wherever your seat,  just sing thats my attitude tend to find others are waiting for someone to start it all!
Once they know others willing to sibg are around them they join in

There will always be folk that moan but thats the way the game is now.

Ideally a everyone standing on the kop, with poor scouser tommy
And FOAR rocking would be the case but the club will never make it so.

For the owners,  club shop,  burger or PASTA :-/ stalls is the way they want it :-(

But all the determined lads can do is make their voices heard!  YNWA

Yes, I was quite surprised myself.

However, a little after their goal you just knew that it would be carbon copy of games from the second half of last season and that we just weren't going to score no matter what. Dominate, miss chances, then our opponent scores from their first effort on target. Rinse and repeat. But it really doesn't excuse those who leave early, especially at 1-0.

Must admit I got up to leave once the 2nd goal went in. First time I've done that in over 25yrs of going, but there was just something about the team tonight. Sloppy in possession, slow to get to the 2nd ball. Just looked like they didn't give a shite. It's so frustrating seeing us have enough chances to win a couple of games, and not managing to score. Said to my mate on the hour mark: Here comes 30 minutes of relentless pressure followed by a breakaway goal (or two) for them. Gerrard never looked like putting that pen away either.

I'd just had enough by the end

Weird thing is, Norwich was my first (and only) game at Anfield... we won 5-0, but I still didn't think the atmosphere was very good. I just put it down to the extreme cold of the day, which could explain tonight as well, but certainly was a bit disappointed.

Went to Arsenal a few weeks later, and while their chants are shit, and they have no songs, I didn't think the general atmosphere was significantly worse :(

Unless it's a big team, the atmosphere is generally poor, and has been since The Kop went all-seater. When it was standing, it was a bit....livelier

The atmosphere matched the performance last night- woeful. Shook my head at the announcer reading out the teams, give the job back to George. Absolutely cringeworthy the way the lad shouts and emphasises the Liverpool team, particularly Suarez. As far as I can remember the club has always done things in a modest and self-effacing manner, and this attempt at falsely generating an atmosphere is pathetic. Is it a baseball thing, imported from the States ?

Nope, this is how it is these days.  There is much, much more moaning and groaning than support these days.  Even if we were 1 up with 5 minutes to go the place would start to empty.  As others have said above, the support that made the club what it is today has been priced out and left out in the cold by the club.

I nearly stopped going altogether after we got rid of Rafa.  Much of the match going fanbase showed its true colours when they turned their back on him.

and I nearly stopped after the bloke behind me reckoned henderson should be "shot" never mind dropped after a match last season, he probably said the same about Lucas a few years ago like a lot of the other wombles inside the ground.  Our support is shite.

I'm in my late 30's now and share a season ticket with a lad I've been going with for 20 odd years, but we're struggling now.

Atmosphere in 306 was alright in small parts but yeah, you could hear a pin drop in others. Only a few of us bothering most of the time, pretty much been like that the whole season really. As one fella behind me put it last night in a loud enough voice for people around to hear: ' This is meant to be the singing section'.

This along with pricing us out is the reason im personally going to less and less games each season even the European nights have become a joke, even if it is the Europa League.

What worries me is that the Kop's reputation for being a loud crowd will soon be a distant memory. A few years back, you'd still get people all over claiming that Anfield was the best place in the World for top atmosphere. Even if it wasn't true even back then, it still was something to talk about and something that the club and supporters could take pride in. When not winning trophies or competing in the CL, having the best atmosphere still gives you a bit of bragging rights.

Nowadays, it only seems to be good at big matches, but when we don't have those very often anymore, crap atmosphere becomes the new normal and I fear that the club will suffer from this more than many realise.

Liverpool are no longer a top 4- club and haven't been for a while. We haven't won anything bar the League cup, which not so many (especially non- English people) care about. If you don't have success, then star players can help, but to be fair, we only have Suarez and an ageing Gerrard of top star quality, and most people that doesn't support Liverpool despise Suarez. With less big games and fewer stars, what's left to talk about? To create interest and a buzz across the World? The atmosphere. If we lose that, it might be devestating for the identity of Liverpool FC. When new signing still praise the famous atmosphere, it's almost as if they're taking the piss. Especially if they're from places like Brazil, Turkey, former Yugoslavia, Argentina or Greece.

I'm afraid we might lose everything that's been built up by generations of fans. And what will then be left, other than the trophies of former glory? Nothing.

How much season tickets are sold? I'd reckon 70% of a normal game would be scouse so pretty lame how everytime the atmosphere's shit that it's the out of town fans or middle class fans fault.  When the atmosphere's good who gets the plaudits cos we know who gets it when it's shite.
