We should aim to takeover a part of the pub for the people who want to sing
rather than everyone spreed over what is a massive pub.

Yes yes. I aim to get in there about 1pm. I'll put my hat down.

Seriously this is a great idea.

Singing = reduction of blood pressure and spilling of beer due to shaking

Excellent - first one there pick a good spot and we will all join you.

If we sing loud enough we will be able to drown out Clive Tydslely / Andy Gray

Tossing up whether to go to the walkabout or watch it at a mates house. If I do come I'll have a picture of a sikh guy on my t-shirt.

So will there definitely be a live atmosphere at this Walkabout place? I want a place where everyone is gonna sing and chant.

Is this Walkabout more of a pub than a sports bar?

Just im gong to be there on my own, and its against my religion to drink alcohol. or even get it dropped on top of me etc.. so im just wondering what are the chances of me being a loud, rowdy but not pissed people

obviously there'll be a few of you out of it, but in the main??

Muslim.

Lol im not saying i look down on those that drink.. not at all. just if its more of a "pub" environment then theres more likely to be alcohol flying everywhere when we score etc..

id rather be focussing on the match than dodging alcohol shots in the air!!

I'm Muslim too mate and I wouldn't worry about it. The only people who will be getting doused in drink are people's own mates.

I was soaked in beer for every goal when I watched the 2005 match at The Extra Time Bar! Never been to this one, but if it is very bad for you to be touched by alcohol, I wouldn't risk it mate. People get pretty passionate and forget what's in their hand ... I would be suprised if there isn't a lot of spilt drinks.

I would second that.

I seem to recall somebody getting over excited and spraying Budweiser bottles after every goal and at the end costing him an awful lot of money that night. (shuffles slowly to the sidedoor and runs for the hills)

I'd imagine this place is gonna be pretty lively. Mix the regular Aussie crowd who'll be wearing their Kewell shirts and a large number of reds and the beer will be flying.

I'm expecting to go home covered in ale, to be honest.

Pubs sell ale.

The Walkabout is massive though.  You should be able to get a spot in a "quieter" spot near the back or tucked in a corner.

I doubt there will be quieter spots - I fully expect it to be rammed to the rafters, and have an admissions policy of one in, one out, by 6-7pm

There are quite a few tables and back walls though.

Basically anywhere with a good atmosphere means it will be full and people will be drinking.

What about wearing a red cagoule and hat?

Good call. Though i know that some Chelsea bars are doing an italian night, pizza, pasta etc. It'll be a shite atmosphere like.

Ok glad we have lots of singing reds heading to the walkabout. I've travelled up to alot of games with the hertfordshire supporters group & look forward to meeting many more reds tomorrow night. I'll be wearing the same shirt, undies & scarfe that I wore at the attaturk in 2005. I'll walk in singing campione the one and only we're liverpool. I'm so pumped for the game. CMON U REDMEN!

Walkabout in Temple looks like its the place to be then for us stranded down south. Will be in there with some of the PTS lot i travel with. Will be picking a decent spot and setting up a camp for the whole afternoon / evening, scarves tied to walls/tvs etc marking out the territory, and few inflatable euro cups thrown in for good measure. See you down there, bring your singing voices.

Disaster strikes for me this morning. Woke up with a really bad fever  :no. I've gone in to work to see if it sorts itself out by tonight so I can go to the Walkabout but it's looking pretty grim.

WHY TODAY OF ALL DAYS!!!!!!!

If I do make it I'll be in a corner with a bell shouting "unclean".

Nightmare mate, a few beers should wash out the infection ... always works for me! ;)

I watched the Road to Istanbul last night (twice) and hardly slept a wink despite the medicinal Stella's I had prescribed for myself ... and I have a half day at work this morning to get through. but there's little chance of me doing any work - too excited!

I'll be down to the Walkabout for 6, hopefully, so hope to see a few of you there.

Dont wont to spend the build up running from pub to pub trying to find a decent spot

How about a Spanish cure? Chop two cloves of garlic (not too fine), fry them in a large spoonful of olive oil on a medium heat, drain off the juice into a cup, add a squirt of lemon, and neck it.

And if that fails, i find that 8 or 9 pints of Caffreys clears anything

Could always try Doggetts just the south side of Blackfriars bridge, it has a few large screens scattered around the place over several floors might be worth a try if Walkabout's rammed.

Yeah, might be worth trying althoguh that is dead opposite a massive office block and there are a few media types around the corner - that is likely to be busy as well is what I am saying.

I think that our best chance of creating a good atmosphere is in the Walkabout a NZ pal of mine has told me that it has
been quality in there when they have shown NZ rugby - used the phrase mosh pit so yes beer will be spilt when Stevie smacks one in.

Come on you mighty Reds!
