We did well to come back and take the lead. Nice to see goals from Lallana and Firmino (he needed that one). Would like to see more penetration. We look dangerous every time we play the ball forward with some pace.

Deserved lead, and it seems luck agrees with me on that when it comes to our second! Stoke got lucky with their goal, but I can't see them being much of a threat in the second half. Play at our best and this should be a comfortable win.

After our goal they reverted back enormously, and left much of their initial pressing game plan. And thanks for that. We didn't cope too well with their pressing.
I hope they stay like that, and then we'll see much more space and chances eventually.

Think we'll knock in a few more. Centre of defence looks worrying ahead of Saturday.
It'll be a completely different game. We won't have to deal with second balls as today we find them to be extremely awkward to pick up.

tighten up at the back and turn the screw in midfield and attack.

This. We're leading so don't need to chase the game now, we'll create on the counter and can control the game from this position. I'd start by restricting the fullbacks a little.

Pretty good so far. Not a good start, but did well to take our chances thereafter. Need to win a few more second balls to put this one away.

stoke goal was a wake up call for us..
we had loads of chances
Migs probably should have saved, but made up for it later with an excellent reaction save to keep us in it..

Happy for Firminho there. good to get back to scoring ways. Slightly over amorous celebration with Llanana  (snigger)  who has been excellent .
Cant afford to lift off the gas with these..

Laughable.

The post also.
Eh? Not that far off the mark he was bossing midfield for the first 25 minutes or so

This game is far from over. Our defence looked all over the place in the first 20-25 mins. Hope we get get an early goal and kill off the game early second half

exactly, we looked awful and so open at times against two of the worst centre forwards playing professional football.

Let's get the next goal and then go from there. Hardly vintage start but we have shown great character to hit back.

Was Glen Johnson ever this good for us?

He was exactly that good in very many of our games.

For once though, today we have benefited from it ;)

You know I dont think Migs was to blame for their goal
He is a bit, but he shouldn't have to deal with a header from that position. He's in the right place before the cross comes in but the defending from Mane and Lovren is dreadful.

No idea what Lovren was thinking there...

No idea what Mane was doing either! Made no attempt to stop the cross. All 3 were poor for the goal.

Fucking hate it how commentators immediately jump on Mignolet. Thought that was a difficult save to make, it was at close range and a powerful header. I'd blame Lovren who fell asleep marking Walters
agreed completely.

i know mignolet is not the best keeper in the world, but there's just no need to solely blame him on all goals conceded by us. it's just silly.

I'd imagine because people would be slagging the players off after 15 minutes or so.

Can everyone, including Jamie fucking Carragher just shut up about Mignolet for a while? I certainly cannot decide if Stoke's header goal should have been saved by Migs or not. He pulled a worldie against Allen, in my view, however. The guy is a very good keeper.
