Must be heartbroken is Henderson and other lads as well but there is a better place for him to prove himself and fulfill his desire now, he's not the first star that was let down by England, or vice-versa, anyway we want to see it as. Get the ball rolling at Anfield son.

Personally, I don't give a fuck what 'Arry thinks Modric is worth, and even less how much he thinks we paid for Jordan.   It's got fuck all to do with him how much we paid for Henderson.  He's tried sticking his nose into our business far too much lately, and now trying to use us as a means to inflate his own players prices.  I get the feeling his shitting himself.

I think Kenny would just tell 'Arry to piss off.  He should worry about his own business, and butt out of ours.

You should stop looking over the garden fence and thinking the grass is greener

Seriously I don't give a fuck about Spurs or what Harry thinks but I am not going to disagree with someone if I think they're right.

However you keep on thinking Henderson is better than Modric and that if Henderson is worth 15-20m then Modric is worth 22m.

But to even the most sternest outsider, Jones looks a decent player. He's been probably Englands best players in the U21's. Hate to say that.
I only watched the first game, but Jones didn't do much in it, Smalling and Walker were the standout players in that game. Smalling seems to have done well in the following games too, so he's probably been England's best player.

Could almost imagine Kenny at home watching that and thinking "Can't wait to get working with this lad and show him how good he can be!"

I just think he needs to be more dynamic, command the ball and be pro-active with it.

It's been a long season and I think he'll be fine under the King's guidance.
United used to win titles on easy street, time for us to take over that real estate

He had a poor tournament, yes.

But then if you're going to judge a player on one fucking tournament, Wayne Rooney would be worth about 5p.

Here's a novel idea, why don't we give the lad time to prove himself? He's 21 for fuck's sake and he's not played a single minute for Liverpool yet, and some of you lot want to write him off already? What kind of fucking fans are you?

He has had a poor tournament and there's no getting away from it.

Pearce played him far too deep which without doubt was a contributing factor, Henderson didn't look comfortable with being given the responsibility of being the  link between the back four and the midfield. On the occasions that Lansbury replaced him he looked much more adept at picking the ball up off the cb's or Muamba and bringing the ball out. At this level I was expecting Henderson to stamp his authority on the game and be a standout player but unfortunately it didn't happen and whilst Pearce's lack of tactical nous is partly responsible Henderson's lack of invention on the ball was something I was surprised by.

With that said I imagine for us he'll be played on the right or further up the field so he'll be able to play his more natural game, I look forward to seeing how he develops in a red shirt.

Nail on head!

Think it all started when Redknapp said that 22m for Modric was a derisory offer and that other midfidlers who wouldnt lace his boots were being bought for 20m.

He's right in the sense that a benchmark has been set for prices. If Jordan Henderson moves for 16m, aint no way 22m is enough for Modric. Should be double the Henderson price.

The whole "isnt fit to lace his boots" thing is secondary, but it\s quite clear Modric is a miles better player right now and is still young enough to continue to improve.

The benchmark was set for how much we were prepared to pay for Henderson.  Not how much Chelsea are valuing Modric.

You only have to look at Torres.  In no way was he worth £50 million when he left here if you looked at his last 18 months here, but he was, because Chelsea were prepared to pay it.  A player is only valued at what a club is prepared to pay.

Very true, there will be examples of players on the move better than Modric who go for less.

lets see how he plays for liverpool before slating the lad.
he hasnt even kicked a ball for us yet.
even if he had a great tournament it would have meant nothing, phil babb was great in the world cup before we signed him and diouf was the same, means nothing, it`s what he does in a red shirt that counts.

To tell you the truth, I'm fucked off with all of this.  It's just going around in circles.

I've not said Henderson's better than Modric at all.  You brought Modric and 'Arry into it.

I'm just saying that folk like you are slagging Henderson off too early, when he hasn't even kicked a ball for us yet.  You said he wasn't fit to lace Modric's boots.  Not me.

IMO, I don't give a fuck what we paid for him, or what it has to do with 'Arry and the Modric deal that has fuck all to do with us.

Torres was worth 50m though. 30m as a player - 20m in shirt sales etc over his contract.

Modric or Henderson wouldn't generate much in terms of shirt sales around the would as much as Torres would and I sure LFC knew that hence the 50m price tag on Torres.

Brilliant goal and four reds playing for U17 plus one for U21, if they come through as we all hope, we will have a great team for many years.

there is no rrp in football, it is an open market....'arry is just voicing his opinion as a way of either dismissing chelsea's offer or trying to up it....a player is worth what he is sold for...as it stands modric is worth more than 22m to spurs, that is the starting point for chelsea, whether they go higher is another matter.....

values/prices in football are not an exact science and very rarely can equated to "worth"....either immediately or over time as there are so many intangible considerations

Ripping the kid apart after one poor tournament in a team  managed by an under-par manager. Brilliant.
The press is already doing their best to destroy his confidence, why not join in as well before we have even seen him in a red shirt

I'll wait till the end of next season to make up my mind on him.

He has a top attitude and I'm sure he will thrive in our team.
