Real anti-climax of a tournament.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Federer hit a peak against Murray for sure. There's no doubt that Djokovic makes everything tougher, but the one thing your opponent can't affect in game is your serve, and Federer needed that serving he was producing against Murray today.

Serena tested a couple times and keeps the GS alive...Novak having to come from 2 sets down and beat Federer in a final. Federer rolling back the years vs Murray.

Lack of first serves, many unforced errors and coming up against an opponent which forces you to play high risk shots. All problems for Federer today

Lame?

There was a whole load of them when mainly Sampras and early Fed were romping thru finals
First 2 sets today were better then about 15 of the finals in the 90's and 2000's

Second set tie-break was a great tussle. All in all a very average final though - maybe we've been spoiled over the last few years with them mind.

Great final and better player won. He should have won in straight sets though.

Physically, he was never going to beat Murray then Novak.

Novak is going to add his 9 Slams if he stays injury free.  Best player on tour by a mile and Murray is mentally shit against him so unless that changes then he could win the lot next year.

The only player who plays against Novak that you feel has a good chance of beating him is Stan at this point. He has the weapons to hit through his brilliant defence and he always brings his best against Novak. Federer doesn't have the capability to beat him over 5 sets anymore, Rafa is not the same anymore and Murray seems to shrink mentally when they play. Nishikori is somebody who could threaten him, but he's injured too often

Murray would have tested him more today I think. Federer can't match him physically anymore.

Crowd were embarrassing though. Muted applause when Novak did something amazing. I am not his biggest fan but he was incredible today.

Murray hasn't beaten him in 2 years. He would probably have won at least a set, but he's got the beating of Andy
