I guess we should be relieved we are still in the Cup given today's events. Not a great performance, several decent chances, wasteful and a tad unlucky. Felt a bit like Blackburn 2000 - although we didn't lose this one.

Another home draw is annoying. Another game is annoying.

Our away form is such that we probably stand a better chance at their place.

Things to take away;

Henderson shouldn't take free kicks or corners.

We have no one who can finish. Borini offers little.

No point playing with about four wingers when you have no one who can head a ball, a team of midgets.

Can't remember Allen touching the ball, was surprised when I found out he actually played.

Subs changed nothing. Infact, I think they made us worse, bar Markovic. Why play Enrique, if you're just gonna sub him off at HT every time he plays?

Front three were poor attacking-wise, could and should have scored more than one but they overdid it far too many times.

Referee was abject, not sending off Mills for tripping Markovic was a horrendous decision.

Fucking poor that. Performance wasn't bad, but it was really slow in the final third, and didn't look like we really wanted it badly enough.

Referee was terrible and fucked us over, but our impotence in front of goal was woeful,

So now we have yet another fixture to add to the list, right before the derby.

This no striker thing just isn't going to work long term.

Lallana was so frustrating tonight, sterling needs to watch hazard if he's going to keep trying to cut in and shoot like that, he has no conviction in doing so. Sakho and Can were the standouts today.

They defended very well, very tight unit.

We had some chances through Lallana, Hendo, the best one falling to Manquillo who snatched at it.

Lallana was absolute fucking dogshite. Least when Borini had a chance he fucking hit it and forced a good save unlike the rest of them dilly dallying fucking about trying to emulate Suarez.

Can't wait till Sturridge is back. Fucking amateurish that going forward.

I'm sure this is going to be a miserable thread, but in tight cup games like this, you depend on referees making blatant calls. Friend is atrocious.

I thought we were very good. We're a completely different team than we were a few weeks ago. Their keeper put in a terrific shift and the ref was diabolical.

Still need another striker, though. Pity we won't get one.

They did, credit to them. Didn't think they could keep it up for the whole match. The number of blocks they got in. Tough run of games ahead of us, but that is what the squad is for. Should have an easier match at their place because they will come onto us more.

That's a good summary. We didn't do too much wrong and Bolton were very solid.

The next 2 months are going to be busy.
