Markovic on for Manquillo please. We'll have to consider Borini as well if we don't score early in the second half.

And hopefully that quality comes fast. Don't want the possibility of another upset on the minds of the Bolton players or they'll be well up for it.
Yep ,quick start to the second half is a must.

It's a real shame this squad hasn't actually been built to play this system as we might have some decent wingback cover for Markovic and Moreno. Sadly we're left with having to just solid full backs as wing backs.

Really? Sterling's got in down the inside left several times. He just isn't good enough to cut in and role one into the far corner ala Henry or somebody. He's trying to walk it in and then giving up and blasting a shot into the defenders legs. Like Lallana and Coutinho. So many shots where it looks like they've tried to dribble and just given up and thought i'll just fucking hit it and hope.

Was talking more about the support when he has the ball, no one is making the clever runs or dragging players away.

Typical Cup Tie. Anyone thinking it was going to be some beautiful goal fest, will probably be disappointed. Baring some of the crazy ties today. :D

Just continue what we are doing and do not get caught on the counter.

Imagine Markovic on at some point. Johnson also needs to remember he is in the back 3 and stay put. He and Manquillo do not suit each other out there at all.

Oh, and Ming at the end.  ;D

On a side note - has Neil Lennon off his seat yet ?

Seemed angry at the end...

His centre halves talking back to him won't help

Just feels like if we added Markovic to one of the wingback roles we'd look so much more dangerous.

Yeah the game's made for him. Manquillo doesn't seem to have the confidence.

Mind you, he's been in the right place when we're in their area for poaching a goal.

If only someone would pass or spot him instead of always going for the shot.

Bolton  deserve some credit as well, they see how important it is to stop us from building the play, have taken some risks to press us at goalkicks, and quite high up the pitch at times. We've also exploited their defensive line at times with some good opportunities to attack created for Sterling, it's an interesting game tactically. Bolton also have tried to transition quickly in attack, trying to use the lack of numbers in midfield to get their strikers in on our line, seemed to work a bit early on but as the half wore on they've found it more difficult to do that.

He has a habit of just running into people and losing the ball in the process.

He does this all the time, just aimlessly runs into opposing players its hilarious and extremely frustrating at the same time.

Except they are away at us, so I suspect they are playing a different way to their normal style.

Possibly, the prospect of a replay would be very attractive to them and nice for the bank balance. But if it is different to their style, there is an argument that they could have a real go at us, and that must be gnawing away at the heads of their fans. At the moment it looks like a cert for a goalless draw.

Guilty of overcooking it too often, with too many touches, or too many passes. And when we haven't done that, the simple pass has been shite. We just need to sharpen up and be more ruthless and we'll be fine

Mig doing a huguita impression lol

On the right cb/full back role, i'll swap johnson and manquillo. Johnson has always been more adventurous of the two. Manquillo is a pretty solid defender too.

Johnson doesn't belong on the pitch for us at this point in his career. He offers very little. Same with Allen. He's a very, very poor man's Henderson. Just not good enough. Offers very little. And Enrique... I can't believe the way he singlehandedly grinds the attack to a standstill with almost every touch. It's actually kind of amazing. He'd fit right in somewhere like Stoke. Just the worst possible wingback in a Rodgers team.

Lots of positives though. With a proper striker we'd be up a few I reckon.

we don't need 3 CEntrak Defenders against Bolton. 4-3-3 with a striker would give us 5 attackers.
