With Sturridge back and maybe a signing or two I think we might be up there with the favourites for this.

Beşiktaş should be easy.

No chance, they're much better than Ludogrets an probably as good as Basel, nearly knocked Arsenal out

Maybe but we will have Daniel back and couple of new signings in January. Our football will also improve. 3-1 first leg and 2-1 smash and grab win in Turkey.

The match in Turkey, at the Ataturk will be absolutely bouncing.

I watched the second half of the Spurs game and they looked like a tidy side that will cause us problems; similar to a Ludogorets in terms of good technique and shape.

They have incredible supporters....should be one to look forward to.

How are away tickets for Europe allocated?
I'd love to get down there.

EDIT: auto cup scheme for the CL will still be going for the Uefa cup right?

With our current form we might as well kill our selves, literally.
The biggest problem anywhere in the world is that people's perceptions of reality are filtered through the screening mesh of what they want, and do not want, to be true.

Bring it on. Hopefully a good Europa League run can be the making of Rodgers in terms of his squad available and rotating etc without anywhere near as much pressure as the CL.

Probably the best thing that could have happened going into the Europa. We now have 2 chances of CL  next season.
Must take this seriously with our current league form.

I think Sturridge will thrive in Europe. Gutted that he didn't get any minutes in the CL, but at least he has a chance here for some more European experience with LFC.

Ahmet Nur Cebi, Beşiktaş board member, on his side's Europa League last 32 meeting with Liverpool: "The Turkish sporting community will see an entertaining match. I repeat what I always said: Liverpool should be more concerned about us than we are about them. We will knock Liverpool out of the competition. There is an account which wasn't settled in England from previous years. Yes, I mean that 8-0 defeat. We'll settle the account now. History is history and we're not living in the past, but it's an opportunity."

Good draw. Not too hard that it's an impossible mission, but a tricky one that means we have a proper European night to look forward to. Happy with this draw.
