Have you ever heard of the Liverbird of Liverpool FC
Proud on the chest of the team that's best
The team for you and me
The team of Billy Liddell, Dalglish and Bill Shankly
We'll fight fight fight for the red and white of Liverpool FC

The one I remember goes something like:
To the tune of Yellow Rose of Texas;

We know we are the greatest, we know we are so grand
We know we are the finest, the best team in the land
They fear us in the Midlands and down in London too
And when we visit Manchester they never have a clue
(Missing verse)??
Few teams can match our football, our record proves this true
And if you don't believe us just ask the boys in blue
The team that's known as Liverpool forever will remain
The finest team that ever played this grand old English game.

Some of the auld arses will be able to fill in the gaps. 😉
My older brother came home with the words printed out on sheets of paper in the mid 70's. Can't say I ever heard it on the I'll but I used to sing it in my bedroom 😉

"Red is my colour. I'll play for Liverpool as long as they will have me. I don't want to play for anybody else and when I pull off the red shirt for the last time I expect I will finish with football, at any rate as a player."McKinlay 1923
