Depends on which one you win. FA Cup is the oldest cup competition iirc hence the added aura.

Non-League teams can play in the FA Cup, not that it makes any difference, also replays/extra-time, FA Cup semi's being at Wembley and League cup ones over two legs. That's about it.

Think that's the winner there.

Think the League Cup is primarily aimed at raising funds for the Football League clubs, whereas the FA cup is a national competition where anyone who fits the criteria can enter

Only clubs in the football league can enter the league cup. The FA cup is open to teams of pretty much all levels above the pub leagues.

  • VAR is shite.
I always liked the Carling cup better because of the two legged semi finals. Since the FA cup semi finals are now played at Wembley, this makes me like the CC even more.
Let us never forget Rafael Benitez and what he did for us. A fighter full of guts and passion. A gentleman full of class and dignity. A football manager full of intelligence and pure genius. A Legend.
Adios Rafa, buena suerte.

Some people say I'm a dreamer...

The Carling Cup and the FA Cup?

One is the league cup for league sides. The other is the FA Cup for all teams including non-league sides.

Worthington as well
Didi Hamann

In the corridors and changing rooms of Anfield I met many people - the great, the talented, the legendary.  I know that I only met one genius.  He was a small, smiling man with a neatly clipped beard.  His name was Rafael Benitez.

Exactly right, any tournament you're in is worth winning. I'd have rather us been at Wembley yesterday attempting to win a "Mickey Mouse Cup" than getting fucked by West Ham.

So Carling Cup is 50% better than FA cup.

Who came up with that shitty design anyway?
Would love the 19th more and more trophies; but would love even more to see a fan owned LFC.

league cup finals are better games, period.

with the exception of our final against west hame every fa cup final in recent memory has been dire.

League cup doesn't have pointless replay theirs actually a winner at the end of the game.

Also no one gives a shit about the fa cup final as it usally right after or before the champions league final. The league cup being the 1st final in the season actually makes it watchable and interesting.

Replays aren't pointless. I miss the days of endless replays. The 1980 FA Cup Semifinal was what the cup was about - well apart from the final result. But that was before the CL consumed the season...
