Waiting till the 75th min to make a change. Like seriously what the actual fuck. Could see it wasn't working but yes let's continue playing the same team. Should have had a pen but we done absolutely fuck all to deserve anything from that game.

But it's ok lads our squad is deep enough to see us till the end of the season even though we have to wait till the 75th min to make a change.

Southampton fully deserved it, odd team this now we just cannot score. In addition, the Wijnaldum sub for Phil is proof we do need players in.

It's always frustrating to lose, and the first leg was complete shite. But fuck me they tried tonight, and that easily could have been a penalty at the end. We're still in the FA Cup and we're still looking very strong for a top 4 finish.

Fuck me. Well done Soton. We weren't good enough.

Few points:
Sturridge is cooked. If he's happy to be on the bench then he can stay there.
TAA had a decent game.
We're in a right old slump. Not just Mane missing. Klopp needs to sort this out before our season completely details.
We need to sign some quality.

Congrats Southampton.

What a shitty January this has been.

Can and Sturridge have been useless. Shame really, expected Sturridge to still be in his prime.
The connection between midfield and forward is achingly horrendous.
Doing the same passing without any other creativity or ideas.
It's soon frustrating.

Gutted we didn't take our chances, but they deserved it.

So easy to play against.

Be surprised if anyone is knocking our door down to play for us next season.

We've been found out, far too easy to play against If your willing to do the ugly stuff, the boring stuff etc.

Short on quality, look mentally tired and that press hasn't been there since November time.

0-1. Again. Another game that we were in control, but failed to win. Sturridge had two great opportunities, but couldn't score. It wasn't just him. We could and should have done more damage. Yoshida and Stephens kept us away. That's disappointing. We showed good character, but it didn't work. Now we need to get back on track and we need to start winning games.

Congrats to Southampton. They won both games and deserve to play in the Final.

been little rotation and we went far in this tournament which is what I'd put it down too, need to trust more of the squad or get new players in

To be fair to Klopp, he has precious little option but to play the same players over and over again. There is no squad depth, especially in midfield and attack.

Three transfer windows now with no net spend. This is the inevitable consequence.

We need to add some quality to the squad,  we need to create competition for spaces.  Why do we insist on trying to thread the final ball through the eye of a needle?

Hahahahhahahahahahaha that ref is bent as fuck. How the name of fuck he gave them a goal kick then a corner to us when we should have had a penalty. Fuck off you fucking c*nt

How on earth Long's handball was not a penalty after Bobby's scissor kick? He was not even close to the ball and reached out with his upper arm. Fucking pathetic.

Toothless. Abject. No leaders or players who look like they really wanted it.

A lot of the semis and finals of the past would've been similar, if not for the man in the stands today: Steven Gerrard. How many times did he 'rescue' us? We needed rescuing today, for sure. It didn't look like a 'famous historic Anfield night' from the start, as soon as Saints caused us a few problems, we looked more arsed about recycling possession in unthreatening areas and letting Coutinho have it from 40 yards out.

When was the last time Coutinho and Sturridge looked like a real forward partnership? All those goals from the past where Coutinho was feeding it off Sturridge all game. Seen none of that for a while now.

Really disappointed.

Lacking penetration again - it's really worrying now.
Asking basically 14 outfield players to play this style through the majority of fixtures acorss the winter is starting to look like a massive mistake

We are so simple to play against its fucking ridiculous!!!!! Again with Can in midfield.... again with Studge up front and again a shite performance.

It's not even that the opposition have to really work at it. Just defend half decent and wait for us to fuck up.

Pitiful from Sturridge on the two chances, another bad decision from a ref again (but it would have papered over the cracks) .
If we don't spend some money we will be back to a summer of not getting our targets from no champions league football.

Well done Southampton, deserved the win.

It's like Klopp never took over from Rodgers. Over-reliant on Coutinho for any kind of creativity, lots of possession with no cutting edge, one aimless cross after another. Did we all collectively imagine the first few months of the season?

Because he was dreadful?

He's our best attacking player. Would you have taken him off? Replaced with Wijnaldum no less, who is developing something of a reputation this season for being a useless finisher. Besides, Sturridge was way worse than Coutinho

Well done Southampton. Fully deserved. They absolutely fucking battered us in the first leg and should have won the 2nd leg by at least 3.

We need players badly. 2 wingers needed ASAP.

No one can tell me there are no players in Europe who make this team better who are willing to come.

Redmond would fucking walk into this side.

Also Emre needs sending on holiday.

Shit happens can we turn back the clock and go back to 2016 please. This year has been a bit of a horror. First half we didn't really hurt them, they could have scored. Much better second half performance but I just kept thinking it wasn't going to happen for us, our luck ain't in at the moment. Another bottling performance by a referee Anderson should be relegated for that performace.

We have to keep our nerve, we badly need a win. I feel for them as they are trying but sometimes we are forcing things, when we don't need to. Don't know what else to say.  :(

they have sold their starting centre back (and captain) and the other is injured ... and we still couldn't score.

Why does Klopp hate substitutions so much? Origi on with about 15 to go and then wijnaldum on for coutinho didn't make any sense to me, but even then with just over 5 mins to go.

Lallana was very poor. I haven't got a clue where we're going with Can, because it's hard to see what he's offering us, and I don't think he'll develop that much. And Sturridge, he just looks a shadow of what he used to be.

We clearly need to change our system if we don't have Mane. Klopp used to play 4-2-3-1. Why not try that at least, as its clear this just isn't working right now.

Fair play to Soton anyway. Played the game that we can't break down and did it well.
I would honestly let Wijnaldum jizz in my face right now

Wonder if all the running in the first half of the season is catching up with them. Can't play 100 miles per hour every week with a small squad
