Slow, flat performance from us. Swansea look organized and disciplined. They are definitely bunking down for a point or a jammy 1-0 win. The likes of Sturridge or Origi should be brought on sooner than later.

In work listening to the radio unfortunately but sounds like lots of passing, possession, too much crossing and not enough penetration. Sounds like the pattern we've been in for the past 6 weeks.

We play against a solid block and therefore we need to try and break that solidity. It's the only way. We need to play the ball forward, not just sideways. We also need more players to try and beat their opponents. Lots of time left, but we need a goal soon.

Dreadful, again.

Need to sort this boss, because it really isn't working at the moment. Doing the same thing and expecting something different is madness. Last month is like Brendan Rodgers is back. Firmino again no threat, Can again sloppy, Wijnaldum again sloppy, again reliant on Coutinho pulling a rabbit out, again wasting Lallana in the front three. Honestly, if we don't think Origi or Sturridge can offer more than Firmino when he's showing such a lack of threat (and he's worked hard to be fair as usual and shown some nice touches) then whats the point of them. Sell them, get someone else.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

That midfield 3 is absolutely atrocious there's no getting round it. Good off the ball but we can't have 3 in there that aren't ball players move lallana and Coutinho back and put Origi and Sturridge on

Couple of decent chances... but not good enough. Need to pass the ball much faster, and much better movements.. hope for better 2nd half.

Christ almighty I feel like I'm stuck in Groundhog Day and watching the same performance for the past month and a half or so. Woeful stuff, the crowd are terrible too. Just hoping a bollocking at half time wakes them all up. It's been said before but 3 points are absolutely necessary today.

It's depressing that it seems to be just all it needs to unsettle us is a parked bus and now teams can come to Anfield and there's fuck all we can do about it. Ah well, a long way to go.

Joke surely? Theyve 9 in the box at times. Not including keeper.

True.

Yet, they've still created the best chance.

Clyne has been woeful. So limited when going forward. Henderson passing terrible. Wijnaldum may as well be on the bench.

Every single time a team parks the bus we struggle massively. Will the tactics change? Nope. Can, Henderson and Wijnaldum together in a game like this is a waste. The attacking players can't get a sniff and when they do it's to watch the ball sail over them and out for a goal kick.

Agreed. Need to get the tempo up. Miss Mane badly.
No idea where to get that extra gear, so glad I am not the manager.
Looks to be that kind of game. Hope we grind out a result.

Bizarre decision to leave out a striker whilst pushing Lallana out of his best position to accommodate Can. Way too much respect being shown here. Without Mane we need to start with a striker, that should have been clear already.

Awful game so far, we've been poor.

Get Emre Can off, get Sturridge or Origi on.  At least put some pace in the attack, give us some sort of focal point because we're not scoring in a month of Sunday's if we keep playing like this.

This. Get Origi on. Push Lallana back into midfield and play with a bit more pace, movement and incisiveness. We need to win today. We can't keep dropping points against shite like this.

They've come closest though.

We've been better overall, though, just a bit too sluggish and impatient. I can't see that staying the same in the second half.

Sturridge needs to come on. He's been poor for a while and is the laziest, but we might only get one clear cut chance and it needs to fall to him.

Need more pace and goal scorers in the side v park the bus teams. Too many players with little threat, not needed today.

We have made some point choices at times as well eg Lovren shot ..

Clyne has been awful on the right hand side. Crossing has been poor and has been sloppy in general, same for Henderson.

Clyne is a wonderful player but his final ball and crossing today has been woeful. Missing Mane and despite all the possession pace is too slow. Should still win it but need to step it up in the second half. Would bring Sturridge on for Can.

We haven't be terrible... the problem is we have to be at our best & sharpest when teams play with every single man behind the ball (which is pretty much every team at this point) if we want a breakthrough.

Swansea should tire they've worked very hard and it's been a common thread in this type of game that we get stronger as the opposition tire.
I would replace Can with Lallana in midfield and bring on Sturridge or Origi, it gives us one extra creative player which we badly need.
Also agree with the comments about the lack of players looking to take someone on, we need to run with the ball a bit more and create space that way.

Really shouldn't need a midfield 3 of gini hendo and can at home to Swansea. Absolutely dreadful performance. This is pretty much last season's team with no pace in it. Big improvement needed second half. Maybe move lallana away from the wings where he's always a passenger for us

Our midfield is so slow, all three of them.
Milner is having a bad day. Firmino's looking good though.
We need lallana or coutinho in midfield.

We started really well but from there we've been a bit toothless. Henderson (especially) and Can have been sloppy with their passing. Firmino has been excellent in my opinion. That ball over the top to Clyne has been made soooooo many times... but we just need a bit more on the end of it.

The crowd is really dead. It always is these days. I bet Klopp is proper disappointed in English crowds, coming from Dortmund. Not just talking about Anfield; Old Trafford is shite too, the Emirates is toxic, the Etihad is the Emptihad. What went wrong in English football?!

Not sure what Hendo's done wrong but we do need more creativity in the middle. Can and especially Wijnaldum need to take more responsibility.

Very pedestrian and slow. They're playing with 11 players behind the ball, and we need to move the ball quicker.

Frustrating to watch as we're so much better than this.

Lallana in midfield please! Hope Hendo sorts it out this half. Him and Emre do the same thing though, and Gini is ineffective when the game is slow.

Sturridge on for two up top or Origi out wide. Firmino looking good up top!

Can we please buy someone with pace.  :'(

I realise this could sound like hyperbole, but I'm not usually prone to it. But Emre Can needs to come off at half time. He's been mostly ok on the ball, but off it he's been atrocious and I'm not convinced he's applying himself at all, let alone applying himself in a way that helps the team.

How many times has he just been ball watching and strolling towards either Henderson or Klavan on the ball, hoping to received a three yard pass that achieves fuck all. He's too keen to touch the ball for selfish reasons that he doesn't seem arsed to move off the ball to help the team.

Looked like the bench told him around half an hour in to vacate the position so Coutinho could drop back and we could try to build more successfully from midfield. We looked better for it.

Can and Wijnaldum shouldn't really be in the same midfield together. They create very little and do much the same thing - Can particularly has been giving the ball away way too much. I'd like to see Origi/Sturridge on for Can asap. Anfield like a morgue today sadly.

Room for a lot of improvement in the second half, come on redmen!  :wave

Can and Wijnaldum are as useful as a bullet in the head against sides that park the bus.
Pointless playing them, they at best slow down the ball by a little, more often they slow it down a lot.

We need to have more dribblers, more purpose with the ball, more clever ways to stretch these fuckers.

Very frustrating so far and the atmosphere is working against us as well.

Midfield of henderson, can, Wijnaldum struggling to create anything of note. Has that ever happened before?

That and Lallana playing out of position.  Shows what The Boss thinks of Sturridge.
