Very soft penalty.

Defoe should have scored again.

to be honest lucky thats its 1-1.

We will score second half 3 points I think.

Anyone else recall their game at home to Arsenal? 1-0 down, Defoe pen to equalise then they got tonked in a 15 minute flurry. we just have to keep our heads and persist in our game, i'm sure the lads will get the all important 3 points come 4:45

Started well and in control with the goal and we gave it away with a poor pen, shouldve dealt with him before he got in there. What is worse is how sloppy we got after their goal, we could've easily been behind at HT.

Problem is that now they have a foothold on the game itll be up to us to break them down again. At least Sturridge is looking sharp.

Can looks absolutely lost out there. Positionally hasn't got the sense for that role yet, legs are not there, and he looks a bag of nerves. Can't blame the lad, and good on Klopp for trusting him - but at this point I'd almost rather put Milner there and let Moreno handle the leftback position.

He's been really poor. Hiding a little bit now as well.

Reminds me of the Everton game. They've given it their all but aren't a goal up at half time

We'll dominate more in the 2nd half and hopefully we can finish one of our chances.
Think Sunderland have plenty left in there. We could fade easily in the second half.

Just ridiculous how we play 44 hours after City.

It makes it a level playing field and they are actually trying today.

Shows you how important Henderson is for us - it reminds me of a game under Rodgers and last season. We're looking like we can concede more goals here, so will come down to how many we can score the other end. Can really isn't that good in that area of the pitch, and as soon as Sunderland increase the pressure in the middle of the park, we easily got put on the back foot. Thankfully, we've still got the quality up top, and as long as we can get at them a few more times, we should be able to win this.

He's barely played, can't be that fucked.
City was the first 90 back after injury, so he hasn't built up his fitness like the others.

He's not as match fit either which might compound the issue..

Mane will win this for us, whether it via a goal or assist.

He's one of those who needs to up his game here. Sturridge has found space for himself so he can finish. Would like to see more of that from Mane. Not just in this game, but in general.

Sturridge will score from one of the shots outside the box, they are giving him far too much room.

Can has been sloppy, our passing has been poor.

Lets hope we can scrap out a win, just need to keep it tight at the back.

Great save from Mig to keep us level!

Can Anyone explain how a player can dive three times and throw a tantrum claiming a foul- and be told by the ref to get up and get on with it, without getting booked. Shocking reffing

Because it is Anthony Taylor as the referee. Having watched the Leicester-West Ham match that he officiated the other day, I'm surprised he hasn't been demoted to the Championship after one of the worst and most inconsistent refereeing displays all season.

Turgid match against an ale house team who have ran themselves into the ground for 45 minutes. That penalty was a gift, stupid defending when Lallana had it covered. Siege mentality from Sunderland though, Moyes has clearly played the card of them against the world, so you've got the likes of Borini running around like a headless chicken, which to be fair has worked because it's meant we haven't been able to dictate the pace of the game. Yet another game as well where the supposed sub keeper is playing like he's fucking Gigi Buffon.

But they will be knackered by the 60 minute mark, which is when we unleash Divock. We just need to make sure we don't make any more stupid mistakes, because Defoe is just sat there waiting for us to fuck up, and it'll be a pissing nightmare if it happens. Not a walkover by any means, but we can see this out and come through if we crank it up a bit.

Fuming at the pen thinking surely Adam can be shouting leave it as he is there to mop up. A goal from nothing  :no

What actually is he?

That's the question I've been posing on this site for a while. For all his endeavour he is neither technically gifted enough to be an attack minded midfielder nor tactically disciplined enough to be a defensive midfielder. He's a perennial square peg in a round hole, a blunt instrument where precision is required.

Emre has been awful

It's never a penalty in a million fucking years he's seen the gap and launched himself and that manc c*nt anthony taylor was dying to give it.

I think we'll win but we're making very hard work of it.

Firmino needs to take his thumb out of his arse. He can't only play well when Coutinho is on the pitch. He needs to get his shit together.

When in complete control we start to get complacent and our concentration drops which leads to silly mistakes.

This shit happens time and again when we play complete dross and feel like there is no threat from the opponent.

Yep, we give soft goals away too often. All they really had to do there was throw the ball in. Even though he had knocked the ball between Klavan & Wijnaldum, Lallana was mopping up so we only have ourselves to blame to be honest.
