A song for Glen Johnson feels like the next priority.  Consistently one of our 2-3 best players week after week.  Brilliant player.

To the tune of Flipper (ya know that dolphin)

They call him Sturridge, Sturridge, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is faster than he,
And we know Sturridge, Sturridge he plays as a striker,
Scaring defenders, making them weeeee!

"Oh Danny boy, the goals, the goals are coming
From Glen, from Steve and even Downing from the side
The game has gone, and all you're chances are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and you must go out wide
But come ye back when the game's almost over
And try a volley, and go put on a show
'Tis you'll be here in winning or in losing
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, just score a goal!"

English is not my first language, and thus, I hardly grasp the correct usage of the apostrophe.

Long gone are the days when every player had a song that was sung in the old fashioned warm up before kick-off.

Oh Joey Joey, Joey Joey Joey Joey Joey Jones being my favourite as a kid, with the gesticulated response from Joey every time.

Happy days  :thumbup  they certainly where

Spot on that, I used to love singing players name before kick off it was a tradition. I'm sure it just stopped when YNWA was played when the players warmed up.

The Kop could do with more New Wave anthems

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/e3W6yf6c-FA" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/e3W6yf6c-FA</a>

His name is Sturridge
And he's scoring across the land
Gets all the Kopites jumping in each and every stand
And when he scores, he'll show you his latest dance
Oh Daniel, Daniel Sturridge
Scoring across the land

I know it may be a bit early, but how about to the Clash

As soon as Sturridge scores a goal, the Kop begins to wail !

Stur-ridge I like it
Rock the Kop now
Rock the Kop now

Stur-ridge I like it
Rock the Kop now
Rock the Kop now

Didn't Raheem have a song to Rock the Casbah?

To the tune of the great classic from Camberwick Green... 'Mr Crockett's Song"

Original lyrics:

If your car is needing petrol, if your van is broken down,
If your motorcycle engine starts to stick,
Then go to Crockett's garage, to Mr Crockett's garage.
He will do the work and he'll do it very quick. Fill her up, fill her up, the petrol pumps are working,
Pump them up, pump them up, you know what tyres are.
Hurry up, hurry up, there is no time for shirking,
If you want a very super sort of car.

I'm trying to embed this effing song... not working on Safari

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2EtBtxqgAO0

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/2EtBtxqgAO0?fs=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/2EtBtxqgAO0?fs=1</a>

If your strikeforce gets depleted and you're left with a frown
If your Uruguayan's left on his own
Then go to Rodgers garage, Mr Rodgers garage.
He will do the work, and he'll do it all alone.
La La La, La la la, la la la la la
Pump it up, lump it up, you know where the strikers are
Dan is up, Dan is up, there's no time for passing
If you want a super sort of car.

(repeat last 3 lines)

Just can't bring myself to change the innate genius lying inside that last line in the original.

Very very catchy. You'll wake up tomorrow humming the line 'You know what tyres are.' You will.
