There is only one bar worth being at if you are a RED in London:

Extra Time Bar - Next to Barbican Station

I cant stress it enough!

King's Head could be worth a go Bennyo, and if not move on to O'Neills maybe? It only takes 20 or 30 of us on here to roll up together and get things going.

Sports cafe - i'd worry about a Chelsea crowd on Haymarket.

I'm with you in spirit though I'll be at the game.

The Litten Tree was unspeakably bad on Wednesday night. Took til after the goal to get served. Beer was awful. No atmosphere. Too many screens.

Sports Cafe can have lots of Reds but can have massive queues outside (and often shows other sports).
I blog about Liverpool, mostly focussed on the reserves, at: http://blog.matthewcain.co.uk/category/liverpool-fc/

Guys and gals - I have a NY-based Red who'll be in London on Tuesday so if any decisions are made for a group meetup, I'd love to let him know.  Which is looking more likely, King's Head or O'Neills?

Tooo early to say. But if the mods keep the thread open for us, we can finalise it on monday/tuesday.

At the moment, Upper St/Essex Rd is looking favourite - 5mins from each other.

Hopefully we'll have enough RAWKites by tuesday to invade Islington

I'll be in Rickmansworth (nr watford on the met line) on tuesday and would welcome the chance to watch the match in a pub full of Reds.

I went to both St Etienne games in '77
I've got the same gut-wrenching feeling of despair I had then when it was 1-0 after the away leg.

Keep the thread going cause there are thousands of Reds down here.

Most place I know will be rammed.

If it is planned in central/west London, then count me in. Otherwise I will not be able to get over to the east from Work.

Cant believe what happened to the Extra Time Bar, that place was unbelievable.  Watched the CL final there, incredible, unforgettable!

Famous 3 Kings sounds good, may come down there this time around.

The place is good because it shows a lot of non-Sky games. BUT it will be rammed for this one with Chelsea fans and unless you are there 1 hour in advance I doubt you will get in.

heya all,

Newbie here - Yeh I know!

I'll defo be up for it - but bear in mind, that as the game is at Anfield, we'll have a load more rentboys to deal with down here(rather than them being in all together at the bridge), if they choose to watch the game in pubs (rather than home), so remember were in their back yard, so would be best to get the most people to stick to one pub........

but yeh, defo count me in!!

The Balham Tup is a red pub.  Two huge screens at either end and lots of TV's in between.  Had a great night there for the Barca away leg, but it was much more quiet for PSV away (I'm guessing because the match was on ITV)  I'd be keen to shares my nerves and several pints for beer with fellow Liverpudlians
One pissed up old feller then took it upon himself to clutch each one of us by the face saying "you have to BELIEVE!"  "You know why we are going to win this?"  "Because we are the mighty, mighty, mighty, mighty, fuckin mighty mighty mighty fuckin mighty fuckin mighty mighty mighty mighty mighty mighty Reds!".

Do scousers go here?  Is there a good atmosphere & chanting?

It's a toss up between this and Hayfields in Stepney which gets a few uni reds down but doesn't create any atmosphere.

Morning guys,

Bennyo the semi against the Arse was always gonna be a bit quiet in an Islington pub, red or not.

But Kennedy et al I'll be in the Kings Head tomorrow.

The more the merrier.

If the atmosphere doesn't work out O'Neill's is only up the road

C'mon....................

You will probably not want to go to 3 Kings for the game. Ice hockey world championship is on so it will be packed with people watching the hockey. You will probably have to be there very early to get in.

OK lads (and ladies, and New Yorkers), the Famous 3 Kings sounds like it may be too near to Chelsea territory, so it looks like the King's Head in Islington is favourite for tomorrow, with O'Neill's on hand if things don't look good in the KH. Click this link below for a map to the King's Head (the arrow shows the pub). And just south of it, where it says the Hilton, you'll find O'Neill's.

Nearest tube, Angel on the Northern Line, or Highbury & Islington ( a little bit further) on the Victoria line.

See you in there in red…
