I remember reading an interview with these where the band denied actually doing the graffiti.  Some photos of it on here:

the PIES graffiti is in reference to the La's. It was a nickname for them in the early 90s and was a message to their fans that they were reforming.

Gouranga was another one of their nicknames and graffitied for the same reasons ...

Arrived back from holiay this afternoon and on the way back from the airport i was delighted to see the return of some of the most famous scouse graffitti of all time, "The Pies The Pies".

Does anyone know anything more about "the Pies, the pies" other than they are a band and they do fucking brilliant graffitti about the place? Don't get me wrong, its no Banksy, but since i was a kid i've seen those words dotted around Liverpool, mainly on the railway bridge over the M57 - and since its been gone for a few years i was made up to see it return.

Is the band returning for new gigs?

And has anyone got any pics of the "pies"?!

Best i could find was this:

It's awfully considerate of you to think of me here/ and i'm most obliged to you for making it clear/ that i'm not here

Didn't realise it had gone.  Always used to amuse me as a kid seeing it on the bridge when I was coming back from my grandparents.

Same. I thought it was well known that it was a Liverpool band who never seemed to actually release any records.

There's PIES graffiti on the bridge over the M58 just before you come into Switch Island. If I recall correctly it's the third lot they've had on that bridge, with the previous two being painted out by the council.

Definitely some on the M58 just before get to Switch Island. I see it driving home from Skem. Not sure about the 57 as I've not used that road for donkeys years.

The stuff on the M58 says either - The Pies - Financial Reset. Or, The Pies - These Roots Are Rotten. Can't remember which now. One was painted out by the council and the pies then went back and did the other one.
