Don't like to be one of those teams that needlessly waste time at the end of a game, I know others do it and its 'game management' or some such shite but I don't like it in others and feel its not what we do

Glad for the result though

Get the fuck in!!! I'll take that every day of the week.

Loved us grinding out a shitty, crappy 1-0 win.

Happy new year Redmen!
Has Steven Gerrard scored a goal even more important than the one he got against Olympiakos - Is this the start of something BIG?

Football's pretty unpredictable isn't it?

A tense 1-0 win and a clean sheet against Man City was not something many would have foreseen.

Fantastic result, great defensive display, superb goal to clinch it. Attack was frustrating - some tired players out there in need of some rotation, and a squad in need in attacking reinforcements.

We've done brilliantly to get to this position at the turn of the year - now over to the club to get the necessary recruits for a title challenge.

Fantastic performance. Apart from Silva's shot they didn't have a sniff and that's saying something against that group of players. Well done lads and a great end to 2016!

What a great start to 2017.. First half was in 2016.. Second was in 2017.. But who gives a fuck.. We won.. 3 more points and a clean sheet..

Yeah boiiii.

For a 1-0, only time I got genuinely nervous about conceding was when we started competing with them to see who could be sloppier with the passing. Apart from that a fantastic resolute performance.

Chelsea keep winning but they can't get away, vital three points on Monday then we can relax a bit with the two cup games before we visit the Mancs.

How sweet is that. A properly good 1-0 win where we just defended fucking excellently. Just one shot on target for City right?

GET IN GINI!

Maybe 2, but neither really tested Mig. For all their possession 2nd half, they could do little with it.

Fantastic performance by the tricky Reds.

Excellent win! Though we seemed to treat them as if its Pep's Barca or Bayern, they are average but obviously have some dangerous attackers. Its another nice string to our bow anyway.

Chelsea, we are coming!!

Sterling's comedy crossing and dribbling was hilarious. De Bruyne is one lazy bastard for all the hype.

I bet you, Chelsea will keep winning all of next month up until the game before they play us, we'll keep up with them and then beat them at Anfield. The tide turns and we soon take over top spot in the table. ;D

Professional tactical disiplined performance.

Klopp pulled out a rabbit out of the hat tactics wise and Pep didn't have an answer, did City even have a clear cut chance.

Firmino really does need to sort his performances out. Absolutely killed a number of counter attacks in the 2nd half which could have made things far easier. I get why he's preferred to others when he's on it, but when he's playing like this it really is pointless. Trying to do some fancy spin when we've countered and have them outnumbered is one of the dumbest things I've seen on a football pitch in quite some time.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

A bit tortuous to watch from about 65-85 minutes but then I kind of got the feeling City weren't up to it.

Loved Sterling getting heckled, Milner had his number tonight.

Tactically brilliant from the mighty Reds.

Lallana was monsterous and Origi provided a much boost to our forward momentum

Origi made such a difference in getting control of the game again. When they were pushing us back, having someone qe could knock a ball in to thr channel and just hold it to get us up the pitch helped us so much. Between 70-80 minutes, it was all hands on deck but after that, we were pretty cosy.
