Premier league fixtures (2016/17)
« on: June 2, 2016, 02:18:52 pm »
So, June the 15th is now the confirmed release date for next seasons fixtures. Thats only 13 days away. Yes, just 13 days before the fires in the belly gets stoked and we start looking for when we play the blues, the mancs and at which grounds will we be hungover at on Boxing day and New Years day.

Yes, it may feel too soon, yes those wounds mightn't of healed just yet, and yes, we're all skint from paying for the season ticket - but isn't it nice to start thinking abar next season?.......................

NO! :P

A nice easy away trip to WHU for me, first game. :)

First 2 games will be away from home so I hope we get piss easy games to be honest, or at least as easy as it can be in this league. Can't be having momentum killed before it even starts. Can't be arsed with playing catch up.

Give us Bournemouth and Sunderland first two.

With no Europe week in between games now I don't think many complaints can be made about being dealt a bad hand with us playing big teams consecutively (unless it's in the space of like 3 days like Christmas 2013)

Only interesting ones will be the Christmas period, otherwise shouldn't matter a whole lot without Europe.

First two have to be away mate. I can see us getting someone like Leicester away first game of the season. Them or away at a newly promoted side(hopefully not boro, coz we hardly ever win up there).

I'd say the big teams need to come early away, I'd personally like to have a lot of heavy away fixtures against the sides who just finished a summer rebuilding job before November, and not in the middle of CL ties for once.

I've also heard some people say it's the first 3 games away from home. If that is true I don't think we'll be playing at home until mid September because isn't there an international break after the first 3 matches?

Why are we away from home for the first 2 games, though?

Out of interest, will Everton have their first two games at home, or will they work it out somewhere along the way so we don't clash at any stage?
