http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=643333&id=1468824017 - nice to see that someone has blatantly stolen the image purely for profit. Doesnt take long these days. do we have anyone who can translate Indonesian for me?

I don't speak Indonesian but a variant of it that is spoken in S'pore and M'sia. Anyway what the comments from the first guy asked if he has asked your permission to use the pic. The Jhar fella said, no he hasnt and that he just liked the pic  a lot and does not intend to commercialise, just that the picture is pretty good. He ends it that he agrees that if anyone wants to print it, they have to ask your permission. That's as close as I can get to what they are saying. HTH

Some quality stuff in here. Just throwing another one, can anything be done with the Weetabix quote from Gillett? Can't remember any Weetabix slogans off the top of my head.

Haha that KFC thing is EXACTLY what I had in mind right from the very start of this mate. Su-bloody-perb. :D

The idea that you could stick that on the wall in a KFC and nobody would notice for hours save for the giggling customers is a bloody masterstroke, and exactly what will get the media on stream.

Superb. That's how we'll amplify our efforts guys. We need a few publicity stunts, but we also need to get these images round our fellow fans and spread the word with facts about the ownership. This is getting pretty powerful now.

Yeah - that was one I'd planned to try but I've never managed - a liverbird-shaped weetabix or a mocked up weetabix box/mock-up of anfield in weetabix packets. It'd be far better done the way Kit just demonstrated though. Absolutely brilliant.

Gotta be a Hicks pun in there somewhere.

I've tried to do loads with the Weetabix box.....but it all comes out exactly like the contents.

Kitster that is superb.

Roy - as for Weetabix, a quick google search comes up wiith the following slogans that could possibly be twisted:

Have you had your weetabix
The wholesome way to start your day
Make it neat wheat, if you know what’s good for you.
I bet you can’t eat three (or was that Shredded Wheat?!)

MORE IMPACT

Our own and are own press already know a lot about what's going on.

Without being mean - H&G and most of the rest who can take important decisions - or give newspaper space are going to say "so what?" - we need something big to make them move.

Don't know whether this has been thought of and acted on before but here goes:-

Can't we concentrate on trying to embarrass these two berks in their own backyard?

We have had action where USA based reds did a lot of the work for us.
I've seen forums from H&G's other "franchises" have pretty much the same sort of gripes as us -  but it didn't look like we and they had made proper useful contact / allegiances.

I suspect that if we could get USA based fans of LFC and the cowboys other teams to come together in a concerted attack via stateside boards and media, we'd have a lot more impact.
The basic material is here - some superb graphic and copy work;
I just think that it might become a much bigger media story if we take the fight to them and crap of H&Gs back porches.

Do we have people with the right USA connections to put that in motion?

If we can Zappa, then great. But short of that, we need to build the momentum and awareness in the support. Without that any ideas about things like mass boycotts or even serious organised protests beyond the enlightened hardcore of the union will struggle. The more we can sew seeds, the better. It doesn't matter if Hicks and Co say 'so what' for now - what's important is that we keep the momentum going (the Echo felt it, and it ran with the front cover last weekend).

They might say 'so what', but we'll hopefully undo some of the work done by their PR advisors, which has been devastatingly effective you have to say. Simply telling them to back off and shut up was a masterstroke.

We need to remind people about things like SteveZissou's documentary.

Edit.

In practical terms, we can get the US supporters clubs involved, and we need to do that here anyway, so can we compile contacts? We have a few people on board already and if we can spread the word and get more on board, then great, but I do honestly think short-term hopes of actually influencing anything in the way Hicks and Gillett act are, well, hopeless. All we can do is encourage the fans to come together and unify to assert their stake.

Low cost
No investment
High in Debt

A picture of anfield in the background with weeds growing instead of wheat

replace 24 with £350 m

replace the wheat symbol with the bleeding liverbird stencil

the jug of milk becomes the liverbird blood bag draining into the bowl

inside the bowl two stacks of dollar bills surrounded in blood

Kitster if you don't mind, I'm thinking of putting this image on the front of a DVD cover template later, so that in the next day or two we can maybe get the idea of people printing the cover off and leaving it with DVDs in shops moving forward. Just downloaded the trial of photoshop too, so I may try and make a spine and back cover image showing the facts of how much we're in debt etc. It won't be anywhere near the standard of the front cover though, so I'll see how it looks - may just go with the front cover.

Good man Paul - that's a good habit - make sure we ask people if it's OK to use the image before we go - remember and get that sanity check. Brilliant idea Paul - absolutely brilliant. If you do manage the template, please ping me a copy.

My first thought of Kitsters latest poster was why is Torres giving Hicks money? Then it clicked :(

That crossed my mind too. I just wonder would it be worth drawing a rolled up programme or something, sticking out of the lads back pocket in order to help differentiate immediately?

Excellent. Look forward to seeing those. The possiblities are endless with this, not just for the illustrative side of it, but for the slogans that go with them. Hmm, think of something more fitting of these two like a famous brand of condoms. I wonder what tags can be added to that.

Trojan maybe? As we've basically let them two into a secure place and let them destroy it from the inside.

As for the DVD cover, I did attempt to design a back cover but failed pretty badly - didn't look nearly as good as the front cover, so I decided to leave it. Kitster, are you okay with me posting a DVD cover template with your image as the front cover, so we can get the DVD plan moving? Don't want to post it before we get approval, especially as people have been making t-shirts out of the design in less than a day.
