Oh why did I switch on Sky Sports News?

"Didn't Rafa Benitez leave a sub-standard squad for Roy to work with?"

"Dalglish appointed. Liverpool fans are always accused of living in the past aren't they?"

"Dalglish has not had his finger on the football pulse for years..."

And constant shots of the Hodgson Out graffiti all the time. Fuck off Sky.
More of unbalanced than thin.

Fair point

Hard to say

That shot embarrasses us all

Aye, thanks for giving it your best Roy, you came while the two gobshites were still not guaranteed to be gone and you gave it all you had.  I don't think you ever really understood Liverpool and in the end, well, before the end actually, that turned out to be damaging to you and to us.  Good luck to you.

Pressure does strange things to people.
Normally nice people say nasty things.
Normally measured people say things without thinking.
The job was just plain too big for him - and I personally now hold nothing against the man.

He tried, it just didn't work - sometimes life is like that.
I've tried things that have just been up-hill from the start, there's no real logic to it, it just didn't work out - and when that happens you take the hit and move on.  That's what he's done, so booting him on the way is totally unnecessary and reflects very badly on who-ever indulges in it.

Get out of the club. It's a joy to realise I'll never have to listen to another one of your press conferences or inane media bleatings.

Get out, and don't bother to whine to your mates about how you were never given a fair crack, because you were and I won't be listening.

I didn't think he came across as a lovely guy, but I did feel sorry for him. I don't hate him, I just hated that he was Liverpool manager and now that he's not I have no problem with him.

I am sorry he didn't succeed since his failure has hurt the club, but I still don't get how he can still keep this erroneous 'nice guy' tag as he has shown little to none of that in his time with us.

I really think he gave it his best, his comments were more out of desperation and exasperation then malice, he's a decent old bloke who bit of more then he could chew.... I for one wish him all the best for the future.

Great news, couldn't be happier with the appointment.

Although im glad Roy has gone because whatever he said he put his foot in it and the negative tactics i'd like to say thanks for relocating your family and trying in his way to get this club to where it should be again.

I blame the people who employed Roy, they knew about his away record and the way he set up teams, their the tw*ts who got us to sl*g Roy off.

He didn't help himself from the start. A few of the players need to take a look at themselves and ask have i done the red shirt proud, because other than Pepe, Maxi, lucas and Ngog i dont think they have.

A new dawn is upon us. YNWA

Good luck in the future roy.

Not buying all this 'nice guy' stuff as he seems to have an air of arrogance about him that just didnt sit right with me. When he claimed he had done all he could and was doing the best he could be doing as a manager i was bemused. I was against us making him manager in the first place as i felt it wouldnt end well and we had better options available.

I havent been a fan of the way he's conducted himself during his time as our manager and some of the many quotes you can pull up from him during that period are cringeworthy. I do wish him good luck for the future though, interested to see who he will manage next and how he will get on.

Nope. I always thought he was a nice guy but his true colours came out while he was here. He's a fraud. A manipulative fraud. I hope he gets the England job and flops there too so all his little lovers turn on him too.

Feels so good that he's gone.

Sadly, you are probably right about him doing his best, but whatever the reasons, his scattergun blame everybody but him approach rules him out of being a nice guy, although maybe it is based on the 'nice guys finish last' phrase as that seems to be the only situation where it could apply.

Fergie is a cock, as is Maureen and fat sam, I just think Roy said all the wrong things at the wrong time, I never wanted him as manager but I beleive his intentions were always good.....just my opinion.

Totally agree with the OP. Many thanks Roy, I don't doubt that he did his best under difficult and often impossible circumstances. He was manager throughout the prolonged nonsense surrounding the sale, through the protests against the owners, which, I don't care what anyone says, must have turned players heads when they should have been focussed on football. Some of the players didn't do him any favours. Some of his comments didn't do himself any favours. Best of luck in the future.

Some of the abuse the guy got was bang out of order. If he did all he could, even if that wasn't good enough, he doesn't deserve to be vilified. It didn't work out, and this is what happens. Hope it works for him at his next job.

Looking forward to seeing Kenny lead the team again, hope the players at least find it in themselves to give him the performances he deserves. No more player power, can't see Keny taking any shite like that.

just take a breathe for a minute ,     he took on the job most people would kill for,   he had the best intentions at heart when he joine in the summer ( he was not my choice thats for sure )

the increasing pressure makes life unbearable and make life unhealthy,   i believe hes a small club manager with existance their goal,  not puching for european places, CL places and winning the League or winning Cup

best thing youve agreed on this year Roy was to walk with the fat cheque,  it wasnt good for your health and was only gonna get worse.

There isnt much i can thank you for other than buying Meireles
