What a amazing win that was. We so deserved that. I am a bloke and I so want to have Coutinho's baby's. What another great goal that was. Allen and Coutinho were both MOTM for me. Can was a breast at the back. Add to that we had to play extra time in midweek as well.

I think this deserves the daffy duck picture. If only the manager had changed his team formation much more earlier in the season. This season could be so much closer. I think a doctor will have to remove the smile from my face. So proud of each and every player. So pleased to hear Anfield rocking again.

To be fair, some of the criticism after Thursday was warranted (especially the stuff PoP mentioned). What we did today was play to our strengths. We had a go at City and asked questions of them despite them probably being massive favourites. Something we didn't do on Thursday where we were probably the team most people expected to go through...

Emre Can is insanely fit. I mean how in god's name he put that amount of leg in it I don't even know. Lovren and Skrtel also looked practically fresh physically. Sterling did look knackered though and if we hadn't had two fantastic long range efforts you'd have to point to him for not finishing, and for not looking as fast as usual (not his fault).

Absolutely deserved win, especially based on the second half performance. City simply didn't have any questions to ask us with the ball then, as we kept it! Credit to our team, but they were ill prepped on winning it off us, not particularly surprised with Pellegrini, defensive work, tactics. never really seem his strongest asset. We always spank City performance wise at home these days, now the results are catching up, last season, today....

Great shot from Coutinho, need to see it again, but he has this technique where he puts a bit of topspin on it, which I've seen Aguero do, the real Ronaldo too, rather than a straight instep hit. When you combine that with a bit of swerve, you get a shot like that, dipped right in beyond Hart while staying out of his reach during the trajectory as well.

Allen was absolutely class today. Don't think he was MotM because frankly at times Coutinho was playing a different sport to the other 21 men on the pitch.

But he was excellent. Him and Lovren did themselves proud today.

Skirtl was so cool, Lovren strong. Coutinho is a genius. Joe Allen was exceptional, didn't realise he could play like that against a team like City for a whole game.

Clattenburg is by far the best ref in England. He might be a bit lenient for a lot of people, but more often than not he's the same for both teams and that's what I like about him...

Same here. Thought we would fade badly as the game wore on but we were excellent. Joe Allen has been great for a few weeks now. Really playing well.
