FAO: DK - Nine's AFL Footy Show coming to London
« on: May 27, 2005, 02:26:43 am »
If you’re missing the Aussie Rules experience, Channel Nine’s AFL Footy Show will be doing a show from London on June 23rd at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.

From http://sports.ninemsn.com.au/afl/ :
“Eddie, Sam and Trev will be joined by Shane Warne, Billy Brownless and Garry Lyon.  If you are in London call 020 7494 5513 to book a ticket.  Remember, the show comes back to Australia live so doors close 12pm local time!”

They humiliated reigning premier Port Adelaide at Subiaco Oval last Sunday winning by 117 points.    :o

West Coast had the luxury of 16 goal-scorers - equalling the VFL/AFL record, a feat achieved only twice before.

The 27.17 (179) to 9.8 (62) result leaves the Power stranded on just three-and-a-half wins after 10 rounds, and facing an uphill battle just to qualify or the finals, let-alone defend their crown.

For West Coast, the result gets them back on the winning track and takes them two games clear on top of the ladder with the club fighting for a top-two spot - and home finals - come the end of the season.

Yep, as a Port supporter, I was unfortunate enough to have to sit through that crap. West Coast look the goods for the flag this year. West Coast v ST Kilda GF

Thanks guys.  I have been catching up on my AFL each weekend even though it is a week late each time.

The Eagles are certainly looking good although it is a little concerning losing to Collingwood on our first trip to Melbourne for the year.  As long as we secure a top 4 finish that will give us enough home finals to get to the Grand Final I think.  Fingers crossed.

I did see that the Footy Show was coming over!  But I think it sold out within 90 minutes.  Apparently the Theatre (not knowing that it was a live television broadcast) asked them to do repeat shows as it sold out so quickly!  :D

Ablett (the AFL version) will be inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame next week after being overlooked four times because of his controversial post-retirement life.

But Ablett kicked the one goal that mattered. ;)

Poor old Micky.  I can still remember him bended down on one knee, absolutely distraught.

Ablett didn't have much impact the next week though  :P

The greatest player, in my time, never to win a Premiership.  Lockett a close second.
