His price tag is enormous but I definitely can see big clubs trying to get him to sign for them next season. Hope one day he wears the red shirt but I know it is difficult to happen though.

35 goals and 17 assists on the season, can play on the wing just as well as up front - Speaks for itself.

Messi's might be more accurate but Hulk's is exponentially more powerful. I would shit myself if we signed him over the summer. Snowball's chance in hell of that happening but my god what a signing it would be. Imagine the attacking play but also imagine the shirt sales.

I said best left foot, not best left-footed player. Messi's the best player in the world but Hulk has the best left foot. He can nail free kicks/long distance shots with power, curve and accuracy that no one other than maybe Ronaldo can.

I'd stil rather have Messi. Maybe it's because I dont really rate Ronaldo that good on free kicks though.

Yeah, the talent was obvious but it is always a risk with young players and this one in particular seems to be doing his talent quite a bit of justice.  An absolute beast of a player and I think he would be great here.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Nice to see that we are actually competing at that level, for top players, with top sides.
If we are looking at a striker and names like Aguero pop up,I'd believe that back-up names would be Hulk,Falcao etc.

Wouldn't want us to go for Falcao to be honest, don't think he'd handle the English league as he seems more like a poacher than anything and would need decent players on the wings (Hulk for example) to provide the killer ball to him to finish.

If we are actually competing for top players then hopefully Aguero, Llorente and Hulk are on the list.

Agree with wide forwards, but then I dont think we'd need Llorente now that we have Carroll.
Aguero is a pipe dream,Hulk would be massive.Given the French connections,I cant believe why we arent in for Kevin Gameiro.

Llorente and Carroll upfront, Suarez, Gerrard and Meirelles behind and Lucas as the holding player? yes fucking please!

Llorente            Carroll

Suarez                                                      Gerrard

Meireles                      Lucas

Get a decent crosser in and we'd score shitloads IMO.

I'll admit, I've never even heard of Gameiro, what's he like? Striker or an attacking midfielder?

Everytime i see porto win a free kick, the majority of the time he will balloon the thing high and wide. He floated in a lovely freekick last night couple of yards outside the box, a goal nearly came from it. Five minutes later hes attempting to score from a freekick 40 sum yards out and skys the thing. Would wind me up with that shite

From the little that I've seen,Gameiro can play as striker, sometimes a little deep and also drift out wide if needed.Very clinical in front of goal and highly rated in France.Surely Comolli would be having an eye.He scores a potload of goals for Lorient, makes me think that he is kind of a poor man's Aguero.Perhaps someone with better knowledge of Ligue 1 can say better. His goalscoring stats do speak for himself though.
And I think we'll be more inclined to buy a wide forward rather than Llorente(I may be wrong).A Suarez type player on the right wing, rather than an out and out Carroll type player.

Gameiro sounds like just the player we need, the Trequarista if you will. Someone to link up the midfield and the attack.

Suarez does it for us now, but getting another player in who does the same will help ease the pressure and give us a lot more options.

Hulk could be that other player though because he seems to play in a similar way, likes to link defence, to midfield and midfield to attack.

We should sign him purely on the basis that it gives Skrtel someone to play with on his days off.

Yes with Hulk,he can drop very deep and take the ball forward, dribble, shoot from range, which is much like Suarez, just that Hulk is very strong, relies on power to outmuscle players and shoot.
Aguero would obviously be the ideal player,if we are really intent.
But with Gameiro,I think someone who has seen him play a lot will be able to comment more on his strengths, and the formation that Lorient employ etc.He is 23-24,comparatively tiny in stature, has good skills, could fit in well IMO.

he tormented the mancs defense in the champions league that year.  rounded the defenders or made them fall over their ankles and had a hell of a shot.  great player and will be a nice purchase for whoever does buy him.

He reminds me of Adriano circa 2005-07.

I reckon he could be amazing for any team in Europe. Let him stay high up the pitch and just get him onto that left foot. Porto will undoubtedly sell him like, they always do.

Yep.

From Wiki:

After his stay in Japan, Hulk moved to Portugal and signed for defending champions F.C. Porto, who bought 50% of the player's rights for €5.5 million, from Uruguayan side C.A. Rentistas, with the transfer fee being received by an unnamed investor.

I think it's fairly evident we're in the market for two wingers, so why's that a problem.

Signing Llorente went out the window the minute we signed Carroll as well.
