I have seen great uruguayan players in my life like Walter Gomez,Juan Alberto Schiaffino,Omar Oscar Miguez and i will never forget them.

I have seen that Game between England and Uruguay(Uruguay 1953) that Uruguay won 2x1(Julio Cesar Abbadie and Omar Oscar Miguez for Uruguay...Taylor for England.

I will never forget four players that played for England that day...Tom Finney, a right winger and a left wing named Stanley Matthews...a number nine named Taylor that i believe played for City in England...and a player named Billy Wright, I do not remember the names of the rest of the players of that squad.

Tom Finney was unplayable that day...

Uruguay line up was...Maceiras...Santamaria and William Martinez.
Rodriguez Andrade...Carballo and Luis A. Cruz...Abbadie...Julio Perez...Omar Miguez...Juan A. Schiaffino and Cabrera.

I have seen all the best players from Argentina,Brazil and Uruguay since i was a kid...But i have never seen a player like Luis Suarez...because in each game he plays he gives his life for his team or for his national team.

Even when  he is having a bad day on the pitch he never surrenders...because suddenly ...when no one expect it...he will create something out of nothing...and score a great goal for his team.

Don't sell him...protect him...because players like him are hard to find in this world.

That should be printed and handed out to every whopper and jester hat wearing day-tripper before the match tomorrow.

Anfield can be quiet against the likes of Wigan but with those words in everybodys mind, the roof would come off (if we had one). Especially when Luis got the ball.

never been his biggest fan to be honest, but cant disagree with that post. The way he plays is quite breath taking. Wish he was more clinical, wish he was surrounded by better players. But you could never fault his effort or his ability. Needs a rest every once in a while.

And to be fair, his goals are stopping us dropping like a stone at the moment. Was really starting to fuck me off 3 weeks ago, but as with all lovable rogues he is winning me round again. Play up luis lad, keep going son.

In a way, it is players like Suarez that are keeping me interested in the game.

Not knowing what he is going to do, you can't take your eyes off him.  Its amazing that the only 3 options an attacker has when running at a defender are to the left, to the right and through his legs, you never tire of seeing Suarez dazzle a defender into submission.  Epic player.

Very good OP, actually chortled which is rare for me.

The reality Vs the perception of Suarez is incredibly distorted. It’s rare to find a player so universally disliked. There exists a collective hate towards him that is unprecedented. Unfortunately for his haters he is starting to score in most games now so the narrative is beginning to tentatively change in favour of Luis. It’s difficult to simply slate a player after he cushions an impossible 70 yard pass and drifts past an on-rushing keeper in the blink of an eye. That kind of genius cannot be ignored.
