I have a suspicion it's going to be West Ham away.

With us needing to play our first two games away from home, them with a new stadium, they will look for a decent tie to open that stadium for one of the live games.

Personally, I would rather play the traditional 'bigger' teams away from home early, before they have any real momentum built up, so I wouldn't be devastated going to Arsenal or City first.

Please tell me you're kidding?  Anyone who has the slightest interest in Liverpool knows this isn't true.

Have you only just started watching the game?   :o

EDIT:  Hmm looking at your bio you seem to be a Wind Up Merchant.  I'm betting you're a Bitter or manc in disguise, sorry if I am wrong.

What the ****. is there any need for such a venemous response as this,  especially on such an innocuous topic!!

Just for your information, I have been going to Anfield regularly  for over 60 years, 40 of which I have been a season ticket holder. Followed the Reds through their second division years and have followed them all over the country and Europe.
To be called a Bitter or a Manc in disguise - unbelievable. And a wind up merchant? There's only one on here mate

Look, I didn't mean any disrespect mate.  Sincere apologies if I was way off the mark.

But for someone who has been going to Anfield for over 60 years to not know how the English fixture list works is a little puzzling to say the least.

Plus I was wary of your bio, it's a bit like you are taking the piss out of us Liverpool fans.  Again, sorry if I am incorrect here.

He is not entirely incorrect. We play the same teams on the second half of the season and in the same order as the furst half barring 3 fixtures in december which are generally replayed in january or february. If by mirroring, he means repeating thr first 19 games in order, he is close to being correct.

Somebody obviously had WAY too much time on their hands, making all those fixtures up so everything correspond in the proper way.  :o

If you went to even that much bother, you'd surely put in a few gags though?

April:
1: Manchester United (H)
4: Everton (H)

is as needly as that list gets.  It's like the guy I knew who claimed to have family living in Solihull (he didn't) - make it Grozny or Narnia, or somewhere.

Either a newly promoted side or a derby away, would be a good opening game. No stoke, west brom, west ham away.

I just hope we play at least 4 big clubs away from home in our first 10 games and our final 4 fixtures are relatively easy... say bottom-half clubs

I am not sure this is entirely true.  Don't the FA liase with police when organising the fixtures?

They probably have some conditions inbuilt into the program (such as Everton and Liverpool can't play at home on the same day etc) that the police and FA both agree with.

A run of tough away games would be really good for us I think. We have a mostly settled squad while the likes of United, City and Chelsea are going through major surgery. I think we could do quite well.

The downside of this could be we don't do well and the pressure mounts on the games we should on paper win?

We had this 10 years ago in the league & really struggled. Ended up battling it out with Arsenal for 3rd place.

Apparently the Premier League have decided that Liverpool are so awesome this year that we have to play Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton away on the first day of the season.

That 9 point head start will really help our league campaign I think.

Just waiting to see but quite looking forward to seeing them now - though it will only be rough until Sky/BT gets their hands on them! ::)

Somewhere on here I read that you can only get 3 Monday games in a season - does anyone know what the situation is now we have Fri night matches too? Some people are going to need to use a lot of leave from work to attend them! (A principle I object to given they are known as "weekend fixtures"!) I think that the limit should be three for Mon+Fri
We are a team of one half.
