Okay, just need one more now and then I can do the draw.

Once upon a time we'd have filled up on drafters in 5 seconds flat!

Just going to share this to all, as I've been asked an interesting question via PM about using 433 as your formation -

It's a formation I thought long and hard about banning outright, as it's VERY tricky to all fit together. But there are a few combinations that can only really work in this formation. So it is available to you all, but I'd also advise sticking to the standard 442 or 4231 variants for less of a headache.

The first round is usually unrestricted, but within reason which is why I PMd Vishwa just now.

Are Maldini, Nesta and Buffon a known centre half/keeper combo?  I guess they played for Italy a few times but nothing really sticks out, unless I'm forgetting something obvious.

Maldini and Nesta definitely although I would say if he had picked Dida instead of buffon it might have been better. Since it would be the AC Milan combo rather than the international one.

As long as Maldini is being played as a CB I guess
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

ok, so me and XabiArt were a little uncertain of this. In the sense that, we weren't sure if they're simply being judged on the partnerships alone, or as their career as a whole. Obviously Nesta and Maldini played a bit together at club but only played with Buffon at internationals. So they're Milan partnership isn't considered then i guess?

Ummmm the draft is called a Partnerships draft for a reason! Buffon is an invalid pick here, unless you're picking Maldini and Nesta purely as a CB pairing for Italy.... which I can't even remember ever happening? If you want Maldini and Nesta then Dida should be your keeper. Alternatively there's a CB who I'm sure you know of who could be swapped for Maldini, which allows you to keep Buffon. Either way, you need to change your pick.

Actually that's a good point. I'm sure it must have happened at one point that Maldini and Nesta were a CB pairing with Buffon, but fucked if I can remember it either.

Just pick Dida and everything is sorted.

Yep, really frustrating that Romario & Bebeto AND Stoichkov & Laudrup won't be seen in this draft. When I researched the idea these two were amongst the key combinations. Unfortunately they'll be a fair few blocks like this. Maldini going also voids one of the great fullback combinations.

Screw voting. We're going to draw lots for the draft winner in the final round  ;)
