Awful round then.

Cheers for the update.

I think Lawnmowerman and biscansmicer are deliberately trying to outdo each other.

What are peoples opinions on how the players on same points are separated. Currently I've got them separated by 'goal difference'. Would it be better to do it first on points gained in head to heads, then goal difference?

Ankit                           4   2   0   2   31   26   5   6      37
The G In Gerrard         4   2   1   1   30   28   2   7      37

Above for example, would see The G on top for having 2 wins and a draw = 7 points, over Ankits 2 wins = 6 points rather than Ankit being ahead because of his +5 GD, with The G being on +2.

And he storms out of the relegation spots with a hard fought draw and an excellent gd of just the -10 now. Leaders shifting about nervously I can tell.....

Head-to-head, then goals scored. Goal difference doubly rewards those whose opponents have failed to show up. Goals scored are entirely down to the players themselves, goals against is more down to luck.

I wouldn't if I were you, and I speak from experience :).

It's too much work to look up incomplete head-to-heads every week (probably even impossible for three-way ties, or more) and then manually sort the table. Just do it at the end of the season.

Those tables can do it automatically. I just change the sorting range to whatever column, then add a second sorting range, then a 3rd.

Yes, but head-to-head is not a column in your table.

If you find a way to automate sorting on head-to-head, let me know. :)

The Pts column acts as that?

With the example above, The G has 7 head to head points, and Ankit has 6. So I can get the table to sort by the Total column first, then the Pts column, then the F column.

Oh, in that case I misunderstood you. I thought you meant if two players are tied, you sort them according to how they played against each other (the UEFA way, basically).

If you don't want to do that, then I'd go with goals scored first (again, overall head-to-heads are not entirely in your own hands, and favour those whose opponents failed to show up).

On the other thread, I do the individual head-to-heads only at the end of the season, there are typically not too many ties by then.

No idea how Phil did it, probably on goal difference. :)
