"Somewhat" did you notice the use of that word? ;)

Also watched him for 2+ years for Newcastle (not on match of the day either) and he's really impressed me everytime.

Only 4 players I would have took out of Newcastle for this season where Carroll, Barton, Enrique and Nolan. 2 out of 4 ain't bad.

Just ribbin yer mate.

Im so excited now, not that I wasnt before hand but fuck me what a difference a Year makes eh.
An absolute steal at that price and we have a few left footers in the team now which creates a much better balance.

Any guesses who's next from 2009–10 Football League Championship Team of the Year we sign? We're slowly turning into that selection.  ;D

I know what you mean mate, he'll also show an excellent attitude towards the young lads aswell, Robinson will learn alot from him.

Hopefully he'll settle quicker having Carroll here aswell.

So we now have Enrique, Aurellio, Adam, Downing, 4 players with good left pegs

Gives us a nice balance

You clearly didn't see Nolan over the last 2 seasons, he ran that Newcastle team and and provided a shit load of assists and goals.

Another important point that regarding Carroll.
I'd take a punt on Barton also, with the same thing in mind and being on a free would be a strong addition to the squad.

That's a bit ignorant. Comolli is an important member of LFC and like it or not, our approach is based at least partly on statistics. To say it don't 'mean shit' is wrong.
Is right Hazell.

Stats separate the wheat from the chaff- and that's before even Kenny gets to them. If Enrique's stats- among other things, weren't up to scratch- I'm sure he wouldn't even have gotten a look-in from Kenny- along with the other potentials.

Probably the funniest post I've ever seen. Bargain of the summer this. Haven't watched him too much but an arse fan told me he is a good signing and they are always negative little fuckers.
Seems everyone is pissed at us.. Newcastle fans, Arse fans(arsenal-mania:transfer forum), shitcafe.net(Jose Enrique: UPDATE) etc...

Just adds to the smugness ;)

Very happy that we finally have a reliable left back -- and an attacking-minded one, too!

Think having him in the team would greatly improve our tactical flexibility and help utilize a number of 'wide' midfielders we have. I mean we can finally afford to play Maxi, Kuyt, Adam and even Meireles on the left without being too narrow down that flank!

Is the CB thing really THAT big of a problem? I mean yes, last season was a bit of a cock up but honestly, Skrtel looked pretty solid, and even if Agger is out injured, Carra's there. Yes, his lack of pace is a problem but we can compensate for that by going 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 in the odd game to make up for it. Then there's the Greek for games against the likes of Stoke, Kelly can do a job at CB when required as well (didn't he start out as a CB or something?) It would be great if we signed a CB, but I won't worry if we don't.

LB was a bigger priority. Glad we got someone.

Reckon these will be in the top 10 mate (in no particular order:)

Utd, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Stoke, Villa, Spurs, Fulham, Bolton.
