That Telegraph article also states that he was playing with a knock on Sunday. The summer and a long break would probably be welcome.

The article also delves a bit into attitudes as well.
Didnt notice anything in the article about his attitude ?

Err, is Sturridge injured?

Heard he was out for a month after he pulled out of the England squad, then didn't see anything official, now people have him in their proposed teams to face Arsenal

edit: ah, just read the conversation. Nothing to suggest he's either fit or unfit.

He's in the training pictures from today, playing. He'll probably be fit to play.

Yeah, should have edited my post when I saw the photos. Absolutely vital that he stays fit for as long as possible, not just for this season but for what it could mean next season as well. We just can't afford for him to miss a game or two, and it to turn into a multi-month layoff like it did between September and January.

So ... Enrique is due to step up his recovery from injury by playing in the U-21s this afternoon.

Hands up who knew he was injured and not just dropped ?

He was injured stroking a Dolphin.

The Dolphin also suffered a minor stroke with the excitement of meeting one the UK's most elusive Spanish left-backs.

Apparently both Sakho and Sturridge had to go off with tightness in the hamstring, well Sakho was hamstring didnt see what was bothering Dan. A blow to lose either one of them now, still fancy us to have enough to see off Newcastle at the weekend and we can go from there.

Rodgers said he felt a tightness, didnt say in what part of the body. We really have to be careful with the lad, he's not looked sharp recently but that is understandable. Just dont want the club or Daniel himself to over do it.

What has happened to Sturridge this time? I missed the pre-match chat.

Fuck everything else, go out in the summer and buy a first choice striker. Not a back-up, not a prospect, a genuine first choice player with an outstanding goal record, and then Sturridge can play on the rare occasions he's fit.

The fact that Sterling has probably played as a striker more than Sturridge will probably indicate we need one. I think that should be the first choice for the summer to be honest..so many less goals compared to last year at this stage

Yep. Spunk 75% of the budget on Higuain or someone of that ilk. We have 0 reliable forwards. Baloltelli is shite, Lambert doesn't fit in, Borini's usless and Sturridge is always broken. Its a miracle we're fifth considering our strikers have 7 goals between them. Skrtel last season had as many as the lot of them combined this time out.

I don't think anyone will be complaining WHO it is, as long as they stay fit and can score 20+ goals in a season. Sturridge is unreliable. He managed 30 or so games last season and about half that this season. You can't build your squad around someone who isn't there half the time.

I think Rodgers will make a goalscorer our number 1 priority. Hopefully we hold onto Sterling, cause with the number of players leaving, and wages that will clear, I think we should have the finances to pursue a good striker.

If by some chance, we make the CL, things become a lot easier on that front, with the likes of Higuain angling for a move.

Dont wanna knock the lad but this is just ridicolous. He's on a par with Aurelio and Degen! what a howler it was not getting in a goalscorer when we had £75m in our pockets.
