Cant expect to beat a team like Chelsea when you dont start playing for 60mins. Andy changed the game, he was brilliant and can be proud of himself he showed the fight you'd expect but didn't see off the rest of our team.

How about it. First time Downing fights back and shows some passion something good happens. It's not rocket science...

And if you start playing when there is 30 minutes left then it's very hard to win football matches.

But it says everything about our side that we need to put a big lump up front and play direct.

we coulda won this.... silver lining, Carroll's performance. If he continues in this vein, will be a revelation come next season. Spearing and Downing.. not good enough.
1st goal was a comedy of errors and nothing to say about the 2nd. Was the ball in for carroll's 2nd?

We started off at the wrong foot. Chelsea was packing the midfield and shackling suarez. We have problems playing the low ball, shoulda went direct at the half rather than after they scored the 2nd.

Too little too late, we dont have anybody to blame but ourselves because the first 60 mins were awful.
The positive is that the players showed pride in the last 30 minutes and that Caroll was immense, I dont think it was a goal to be honest but it was really really close, 90% of the ball was in.

Toothless in the 1st half, better in the 2nd, but the alarming lack of quality in our team is clear to see.

If Carroll and Suarez had more support they would have single handedly twatted Chelsea.

Bitter fucking pill to swallow. We were fucking shite until the big man came on and scored. Then we woke up and realised this was the FA Cup final and decided to try and win and we could have fucking done so until Dowd and his linesman turned a blind eye to a clear goal. The sooner we get goal line technology the better. Robbed.

Andy was outstanding, only reason we were able to turn things around. Too many players went invisible today and unfortunately we lost it. We need a lot of quality this summer as this team was clearly lacking it.

Too cautious in the first half and too many players didn't turn up for that 45 minutes.

Carroll made a massive difference and I thought they all played superbly in the second half, expect for Spearing who was partly at fault for the first and fully at fault for the second... Lucas a massive loss in that regard.

But credit to the second half, credit to Carroll who I have slated on here - he was superb when he came on and really gave Suarez support and the side a different dimenion. Just a shame he didn't score that second and gave Cech a chance to save it.

Oh well onwards and upwards, big summer ahead and I trust Dalglish to get it right!

Lacklustre performance from both teams til we woke up. Pepe should've saved the first goal and Spearing was at fault for losing possession there. Second goal out of nothing.

But the whole of the ball must be over the whole of the line sums up our season. Gutted.
