I've been impressed with Middlesbrough so far, they look like they could finish in the top half of the table.

Karanka looks like a very good manager in the making and he's only 42 as well, I think he's a coach with a bright future.

They play Crystal Palace at home after the international break, they beat Palace that would take them to 8 points from the first four games. That would be a cracking return for a newly promoted side.

Bilic should be under pressure, the constant use of Antonio as a right back makes no sense whatsoever.

Sterling is going to be class.  Gutted we sold him.

You would drop one of Coutinho, Mane and Firmino to accomodate Sterling?

I wouldn't go that far.

It's just typical when a player leaves, we had loads saying Ibe was a better player than him at time which was just ridiculous based on what we had seen of them.

Nah, not really typical. The whole country has been on his back and reckon he's crap. A lot of our fans were pretty quick to get on his case for any poor performance even before the move drama too. Will never forget the amount of shite he was getting in the first half of 13/14 season.

He definitely is going to be a top player, especially working with someone like Guardiola. 3 seasons in a row of getting double figures in goals for a wide player and still only 21 years old, and already well on his way to making it 4 seasons in a row. All the posts about him being "overrated shite" was always bitter nonsense.

He acted like a tit in disrespecting the manager and club though and there's no room for that at this club and he needed to be sold.
You cannot call overseas Liverpool supporters glory hunters. We’ve won one trophy this decade. If they’re glory hunters, they’re really bad ones. They’re actually journey hunters. It’s the journey and the story. Something about Liverpool has grabbed them." - Neil Atkinson (May, 2019)

You would keep Sterling as a squad player on £200,000 per week?

Hull away, some people wanted him sold right then.

Think you're right on both counts.

According to Jaime Redknapp that's the best goal man City have ever scored at the etihad. All because Stones finds himself in midfield for five seconds, passes to silva, silva passes to clichy (which is what happened a thousand times under Pellegrini thru, kolarov, zabaleta etc) and they cut it back and pass it in the goal. Nice goal, but am I missing something here? This is what's winding me up, it's just an over exaggeration of every piece of play because Guardiola is managing city.

Its annoying the fuck out of me.

Bear in mind our goal the the Emirates with aboit 20 odd passes was a hundred time better but doesn't get the same sort of praise.

English pundits have this constant need to exaggerate and glorify foreign managers.  First they did it with the 'Special One', now it's with Pep.  I don't know if it comes from an inferiority complex (Mourinho and Pep never got such adulation in Italy and Germany for example), or a need to big up the Premiership and blow smoke up its ar$e

Your belief he would be a bench player and be sold by next summer was well-founded

If there's one label Sterling does not deserve is to be called talent-less, shite, etc. Lacking class, disrespectful, self-serving, poorly advised.... perhaps but definitely not a crap footballer. He is supremely talented, as anyone with an objective view would admit. Does he have flaws in his game? Yes. Can these be worked on? Most definitely.

The reality is 99.9% of all footballers in history have not been the finished article at 21. You could say the same of those same players at 35. And that's the thing to remember about Sterling. He's still young, still learning. But, he's a City player now and it's their responsibility, along with Sterling himself, to make the step up to a the very elite level. The onus is not on us anymore and this hostility and bitterness is frankly quite bemusing. We got £50m for him and time will judge on whether that was a good deal for us or not. The way he conducted himself towards the end would suggest that selling him was the only option we had in any case.
