Potentially Liverpool and United in a friendly? No thanks.

Why would you not want another opportunity to stuff them?

I hate the sight of them at the best of times.

And now both clubs will probably have a half team full of kids and reserves..... and it will just be a sponsorship jizz fest.

That's not what the rivalry is about. Would never want to play that shower in a friendly.

How do you buy tickets for these? I've never been to a game before so a bit of a noob, I'm in Chicago then and really want to go to the Olympiacos game.

If it is anything like the last US tour...you need to contact your  local branch, they will have a block of tickets in the "Kop end". The club will have a block of tickets for this.

Then they will go on sale through Ticketmaster.
Either we are a club of supporters or become a club of customers.

I'd like to see them in Miami, but hard to buy tickets without guaranteeing I'll see Liverpool in the semis or final. Ugh.

They'll be available at ticketmaster, the stadium box office and there will be online sales. Just be ready when it's officially announced-they sell pretty quickly.

Charlotte is only 2 hours from me

That's staggering close. Baltimore last year was seven hours and seemed like nothing at the time

Hopefully will be drinking lots in Charlotte with some people

I went to the game against Spurs in Baltimore two years ago in the middle of the day in August and it was the most humid day I could ever remember.

Targeting the game in Philadelphia, although it's terrible that not much is around the stadiums down there.

Likely at World Cup:
GK: Mignolet
Defence:Johnson, Sakho, Toure
Midfield: Gerrard, Lucas?, Henderson
Wide Players: Sterling?
Strikers: Sturridge, Suarez

Not at world cup:
GK: Jones, Ward
Defence: Agger, Skrtel, Flanagan, Enrique, Robinson, Ilori, Wisdom, Kelly, McLaughlin
Midfield: Allen, Coutinho, Alberto, Rossiter, Texiera, Branagan
Wide players: Ibe, Assaidi, Wilson
Strikers: Aspas, Borini

Hopefully we sign players like Konoplyanka and M'Vila early in the window.

There's probably an outside shot of Coutinho making the Brazil squad for the World Cup.

Going to the Philly game for sure.  Great stadium with a view of the skyline.

I recomend the Holiday inn by the stadium.  Easy walking distance.

Can't wait!!

Brad Jones may also make the Aussie World cup squad as you're required to take 3 keepers.

Not likely as Cronaldo will be at the World Cup.

bit odd that if you get to the final you play 3 days in a row

Those dates will change. Especially considering the travel. The info was a leak on the Guinness/ICC website (organizer) and has now been cleaned up. The real release of this info wasn't due for a few more weeks.

Stay tuned for Ticket info: http://internationalchampionscup.com

Also, there is some incentive to do well in this thing even with the youngsters. The purse last year for the winning team Real Madrid was quite hefty, including a rumored 20m just to appear. Ronaldo scored twice in the final in front of 80,000 including this beauty: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4gs0V7JrX24&app=m

Doubt it. Hasn't played for Australia for three years. Three keepers will likely be Matt Ryan (Club Brugge), Mitch Langerak (Dortmund) and on of Federici (Reading) and Galekovic (Adelaide). Pretty sure I remember him saying in an interview a while back that he's not overly interested in playing for his country anymore, more just wanting to enjoy his experience at Liverpool.

Not likely as Cronaldo will be at the World Cup.

We could still play them in the final or 3/4 playoff and by then he'll likely be back.

http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/154621-reds-set-to-return-to-united-states

Liverpool Football Club today announced the club will return to the United States this summer to take part in the Guinness International Champions Cup as part of their 2014 pre-season tour.

The Reds will join the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Manchester United, Olympiacos, Real Madrid and AS Roma in competing in the tournament.

Liverpool's chief commercial officer, Billy Hogan, said: "We were last in the USA in 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed our visit, so we are delighted to be invited to take part in the Guinness International Champions Cup and revisit again this year.

"This will be the club's seventh visit to North America, where we know we have a huge fan base, and being part of this tournament will allow us to bring the club closer to those supporters and engage with them once again."

For the competition, the teams will be divided into two groups and will play at least three matches before the winners of Group A and Group B meet in the final at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami on Monday, August 4.

Should be going to the game in Philly. Well, I better, seeing as I live here.

On a related note, apparently MLS is trying to put together a small pre-World Cup tournament in the US as well, with like 8 national teams or so. So there should be plenty of football in the US this summer.

Will we still have to take part in this tournament if we're going to play Europa League football next season ?

I read somewhere that Manchester United's US summer tour could be scuppered if they are forced to play Europa League qualifiers.
