We would have gone for their throat.

They were shit first half bar Sterling's header.

You have a nice run of fixtures to stay top four.

Exactly what I was trying to say. You would have sensed a vulnerability & pounced on it, like you did vs us at The Emirates, like you would have sensed vs Everton on Tuesday.

I like to think of myself as quite level headed. I don't praise them too much & get carried away when they win, & don't criticise them too much when the get beat. But I agree with DT in the video above. I'm fed up thinking this could be the time, this time they seem to be showing a bit more desire & heart, only to be let down by those shit performances 2nd half that proves all the doubters correct. I don't want to watch the same failings every year, I don't want to just settle for top 4, I don't want to hear players come out in interviews & say they need to be stronger, or we've found a new mentality only to come out & play like pussies. It just grinds you down, & now there will be an apathy around as we know nothing has really changed, it's just the same old stuff year after year.

Claude and Ty having another lovers tiff over Wenger

You put Klopp on the sideline and see if Ozil pulls that shite. He'll tear up his contract extention and show him the fucking door.

That Arsenal team made Sterling look good. He had all the time in the world to score his goal.

Monreal is patently not good enough for Arsenal if they want to win the league. Lets them down too often. It's a shame for them because imo Cech, Bellerin and Koscielny definitely are (Mustafi yet to be seen).

He doesn't talk in the most appropriate mannar but DT talks a lot of sense. There is clear lack of hunger within this squad. In Klopp's terms, they just aren't 'angry' enough. They're far too soft and it all comes from Wenger.

Yeah he was pretty much spot on there. Lost a bit near the end but didnt say much wrong! Players not saying thanks win, lose or draw fucks me off as well. It takes 30 seconds to come over, hardly torture!

Think you need to relax.

You have a nice run of fixtures until Chelsea away.

What if you take maximum points?

Naw, that was pathetic. Zero character in that team as usual. Could have been out of sight by half team against a poor City, but never put the foot down when they should. Give up completely in the second half.  I'd let Ozil go right now if he demands a better contract. A luxury player with the heart of a louse.  And our fans deride Jordan Henderson?  Haha, I bet Arsenal would love Hendo at the base of their midfield right now.

I wonder how much of this poor form is down to Mustafi's absence. It's amazing how much difference a good defender can make to how an entire team plays. Not just through lack of individual errors, but by allowing the entire team to play further up the pitch and giving the midfield more confidence to attack.

I don't think it's a coincidence that they've lost the two (very winnable) games that he's missed.

United aren't finishing above Arsenal, Arsenal will go on another run and win multiple games and keep distance from United. United only have Ibrahimovic as a goal-scoring threat, that alone isn't enough, he's 35 years old, all of their goals are coming from him. Arsenal may falter in some big games, but they know how to finish in the top four.

Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

This season? Or the last 10?

When we were selling our best players every summer and we didn't have the funds to compete in the transfer market, finishing top 4 was a good achievement. This season there are no excuses, if we can't challenge for the title it will look like this is Wenger's ceiling and he won't ever get higher.
Starting to agree with Claude that Wenger was great once but isn't anymore . No need for him to question Ty's fan base though, a low blow......
I think if this season goes the same way as the rest, there is a good chance that it'll dawn on Wenger, as well as many pro Wenger fans, like myself. That a fresh approach might be needed. The players are on easy street, not worried about their places or their futures. They have become too comfortable under a manager that always makes excuses for them.

I feel sorry for Arsenal fans.
Proper ones.
Liam Brady on Irish TV looks genuinely perplexed.
You see these amazing players one week turn into these boys.
I mean; look at the shape and build of these fellas. I have mentioned this before - when Olivier Giroud is the mosty manly of your outfield players; you are gonna get bullied.
Ok. Sanchez is like a prizefighter; but they rarely play together. The rest look like adolescent boys; the type I see on the fields here at school.
Liverpool must be careful and make sure they don't go this way.
Even Koscielny looks about 12 stone.
What a spine they have, yet they look like kids; little spoiled rich kids who want their ball back when the tougher kids come to the neighbourhood.
Must be madness to be an Arsenal fan.
Move heaven and earth to get Simeone in; and tell those two guys asking for all that money to win something then we'll talk.

The criticism is a bit blown out of proportion because they lost two on the bounce, but Arsenal are showing again that they don't have that killer instinct to win big matches (the 3-0 vs Chelsea is an outlier I guess). I don't think they are going to fall out of the top 4, Spurs don't look dangerous enough and ManUtd will crumble again when the Europa League restarts, but surely this can't be the goal of Wenger. They should have won the League last season and they should at least challenge for it this season, failure to do both would be a horrendous end to his career.

Not facetious (for a change), more ignorant. Several posters said he was going to be a big miss, and one of the summarisers on R5 said you hadn't lost a game when he played (not much of a statement I suppose since you went so long without a loss). Was genuinely wondering if he was one of those characters whose personality affects the team at least as much as his technical ability.  I said 'spine' more in the attitude sense that Claude mentioned rather than down the middle :)

When you think of Arsenal in their prime, they always had men (some hard-knocks too) in their squad.

Viera, Bergkamp, Pires, Adams, Keown, Toure, Silva, Parlour, Campbell, even Henry to some extent.

They have a lot of talent in their team, no doubt about that, but they're very young and immature. Apart from Cech, Koscielny and Sanchez I'm struggling to think of anyone with any presence about them. Maybe Mustafi?

It's never been Wenger's policy but he could do with getting in a couple of wise old heads.

Obviously they are missing Mertesacker (32) and Cazorla (32) who's got experience. And Ozil (28), Giroud (30) both have been around for a while. Hell Walcott (27) has been around for ages. Sure most of that time he's spent injured. But I do agree with you, it's not the same.

Schweinsteiger would be perfect, wouldn't he? A man who has done it all, has played in possession-based systems and is known to be a relentless fighter. Plus with his experience, he would be a valuable guide for the likes of Xhaka, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain. I can't think of anybody more suiting.

Well as much as I think Cazorla has wilted in seasons before; I believe that he has at least shown some 'bite'.
I can't imagine him going for a stroll the way Ozil did yesterday.
And I think he is, on his day as good as him.
It is about attitude; but that must come from the manager. No way a Ferguson, Klopp or even a Mark Hughes team would get away with that. Pretty much any PL manager would identify that and see that Ozil; where sometimes sublime is a bloody liability when it comes to winning with agression.

Huge fan of Cazorla. I think along with our Adam he's the best two-footed player in the league.
He's still a great reader of the game and can play killer passes for fun, but I worry about his energy for getting around the pitch. Not only is he 32 but he's look a tad overweight the last few times I've seen him (not that I can talk! ;D)
