We are own worst enemies. Typical Liverpool: play great against a top side, struggle against a team in the relegation zone. As for Anthony Taylor, said it before in the half-time thread, he was piss poor in the Leicester-West Ham game and he was shite in this one too. Was never a free-kick, that resulted in the penalty.

Pissed it away with a combination of tired, sloppy and dumb play.

Mignolet had a very good game (especially that 1-on-1), but ultimately got beaten by 2 penalties.

Thought Mannone was their MOTM, but we basically got what we deserved.

Unfortunately, Gollum will be ecstatic with that. Klopp, not so much.

Well its painful when the bubble bursts but the reality is we're not good enough to win this league yet. Take a player or two away (Coutinho and Henderson) from our first 11 and the backups just arent as good in the system.

8 goals conceded in 3 games against Burnley, Bournemouth and Sunderland.

That's pretty much inexcusable and you don't win titles by doing that. It's all well and good keeping City out and even United but if you continue to concede stupid, sloppy goals against teams who don't tend to score many then you are asking for trouble.

We did well enough to win the match, considering that was our second game within 48 hrs, it wasn't bad.

Bit of a comedy of errors at the end, Lucas gives away a needless FK and then God knows what Mane was thinking. Idiotic stuff that's cost us two points.

Seven from nine points available, three games in six days. Shame we couldn't get the result today.

Looks a worrying injury for Sturridge, with Mane gone as well for the month I wonder whether our hand might be forced a bit in the transfer market now.

Performance was always going to be poor because of the idiots who are in charge of putting the league fixtures but we didn't help ourselves at all.

Think the league is done and dusted now, should focus on putting a grip on the top four spot and winning the two domestic cups.

That second goal we gave away is still pissing me off though!

Sorry lad...it was a penalty from Mane but that wasn't a foul that led to it. Another poor decision by a very poor referee. We had a poor one against City but he didn't have any major decisions to make.

To be fair we got away with one penalty with the Can handball, so can't complain about that.

I would be interested to see the pass completion stats, felt we gave the ball up a lot today. The obvious difference being Henderson vs Can, but elsewhere, Gini and Firmino guilty.

Sturridge limping off, expect 6 weeks out...

The drop from Henderson to Can and Lucas has absolutely killed us today. Lucas does what Lucas does, gives away a cheap free kick which ends up costing us two points. Can just absolutely woeful. We know we're reliant on a small squad, and Henderson being unavailable has again cost us massively.

Utter toss

Don't think anyone played well, varying degrees of disappointment. The return of unbelievably bad decisions in and around our box, Klavan with the needless challenge, Lucas with a needless foul, Mane with a frankly moronic handball. If you're on the side of the wall, trust the keeper. The ref will notice a handball like that every single time, it couldn't be more obvious.

We huffed and puffed and were clearly suffering from too many games. Henderson a big loss.

Still though we have maintained a great run of results despite the absence of Phil and Matip.
Very happy with 13 points from our last 15 - great run of form at a time when our squad has been stretched.

Hopefully Bob gets the rest he needs.

Can't complain about the pens, but Taylor still with an MVP performance there.

"Foul" given on that build up to their 2nd and Sturridge clattered into outside the box and nothing given.

And yeah, before the Lucas haters come out, that really was not a foul - Defoe fell down trying to turn.

Hopefully people will stop slating Henderson too. Can needs to step it up, half of their chances came from him being sloppy.

Move on - still in the race no matter what the naysayers are going to say after this.
