Crouch didn't score twice. It was Crouch, Gerrard in quick succession. Beattie scored for them just before half time, then Cisse scored early on in the 2nd half.

I remember that game well. We hadn't conceded in ages until they scored, we were on a really great defensive run. Still came out comfortable winners though, 3-1. But at least they scored! Winning without winning.

When's the last time we won there? Was it 2012 under Kenny when Carroll and Suarez scored? If so, it's nearing on 5 years now so it's been quite a while.

October 2011. 6 years, all the games since then at the pit have been draws.

That wrongly disallowed Suarez goal at the death in 2012 though  :wanker And that 3-3 game was crazy... I don't know how we let that one go. The other games I don't remember so they must have been unremarkable  ;)

Last season's 1-1 was memorable for being Brendan's last game. Think Ings scored.

One of my favorite away wins there [along with the Kuyt one and the Torres one] was when we beat them 3-1, Crouch I think scored twice or CIsse, they were in good form going into that match.

Pretty sure this is the last time we played them under the lights in a league game at their place. Expecting a similar outcome on Monday.

gonna be  a real war this one I can just feel it. We need to keep our heads and the Mike Dean will undoubtedly play a part. Can we deal with their compact midfield and numerous crosses into the box?  More importantly will we take our chances? whether they are few and fat between or in abundance we need to be clinical and try and spook these lot and the crowd early doors.

They can't deal with pace and movement. Williams, Fumes Mori and Bains aren't the paciest defenders. Only Coleman on the right is quick, and I can see Mané giving him a torrid time. As bad as Arsenal were last Tuesday, Ozil should have scored after a great move but he blasted over. They cut through Everton's defense with ease on one or two other occasions as well but the final ball/finish was lacking. Mané and Lallana will cause them all sorts of problems, and Klopp's ability to adapt tactically (switching Origi and Firmino against Boro) is something that we can use as well. Really looking forward to this.

Bieber is surprisingly good at football actually. There's a video of him chilling with Neymar and passing the ball between each other. Lovely technique and touch. As they say, he's got a lovely touch for a proper twat.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

This is going to be a fucking class derby. 3 points for us would be huge, vital we dont fall further back. The game at Anfield last season was absolutely joyous but this will be a very different test. Im going 2 nil to the reds.

I was speaking to a Man City fan about this game in the boozer on Friday night. He seemed to think Everton would sit deep and try and hit us on the break. I don't think they'll do that at all. I think buoyed by their win against Arsenal, they'll try and blitz us and press the shit out of us early doors. Which could play into our hands if we defend well enough, allowing us to use Mane's and big Divok's pace to hit them on the break. Anyway, whatever the style of football Everton choose to play, I think Simon Mignolet will play a massive part in whether we'll win this game or not. He'll either make some top saves that will help us secure the 3 points or he'll gift them a soft goal or two and cost us the game.

As for me, I'll be glad when this game is over and done with. Hopefully with the 3 points in the bag for Liverpool. Because I hate the derby games at Goodison.

I'm not so concerned with beating Everton (which is always nice) but more getting another win on the board. Looking at the table, a failure to win tomorrow would see only 4 or 5 points separating 2nd down to 6th which isn't that much of a gap. I felt like we had built up a solid gap between us and Spurs and United the other week but they've both closed it a fair bit now. A win would keep pressure on Chelsea whilst widening the gap between those below us so it's pretty important to keep winning.

Agreed, and with both city and united coming up a win is vital. Any which way we can will do, but I somehow feel Klopp thrives in this kind of situation. It's been a while since I felt confident going across the park and I probably never will again (thanks for that, Pepe). But we'll win, one way or another.

Played 5 of the top 6, 3 draws, one win and one absolute thrashing. Last match against one of the better teams so looking at their previous form a draw would be a good result for them.
