We started poorly and looked like we couldn't be arsed at first, a typical Liverpool kick off against small clubs but a win is a win  :)

2nd half our defence was so much more composed. That said I think Burnley ran out of energy which probably helped.

Good to win though, but we really struggled to create chances and were really sloppy at times.

Massive win.

Not bothered about the performance, all that mattered today was finding a way through this sort of opposition and getting the three points.

Delighted for Woodburn to get half an hour, another step in the right direction for his development.

Glad we won but the performance all round wasn't great. I am not sure why we can't have the same fight and spirit that we do against the other top sides. And why do we start games so pedestrian.

Anyway puts the pressure on Arse and Utd. A win at the Etihad would really shake things up though.

3 pts, good enough for today, but will need better in the future

the non-existent threat from fullbacks are worrying me more and more, because in klopp's system, their roles are so important....

but again, that can be dealt with later, love to have 3 pts and love to see dyche's face at the end, he looks so unwilling to shake hands with klopp, lovely, i could watch that for an hour

our passing was well off today...

ground out the win. 2 asssists from Origi. Very good. Fantatic rocket from Emre!
Thought Lucas was important for stabilty in last minutes. Good to see Woodburn out there..

Did you watch the game? Along with Klavan he was the worst player on the pitch.

Really, Klavan made the crucial block in the end along with making no mistakes... goal wasn't certainly his fault. He wasnt MOM but very good performance. What game were you watching?

Good result, made it much harder than it needed to be

Matip, Mane, Gini played well- thought Klavan made some important interceptions.

Keane was quite impressive for Burnley, looks to be a decent centre half

The weaknesses in our side are there for everyone to see. We move the ball too slowly and the passing movements are predictable, lacking pace and guile in the midfield

??? Serious? Thought Klavan had a good game. Won so many balls, cleared well & even started things well from the back. Wasn't fantastic but up there for one of our best today. Coutinho however was shit.

yeah, not getting the shout about Klavan. He did more than alright, as he did last week as well, love the fact he's at least strong and physical and isn't afraid of a battle.

He didn't handle Gray well at all and he didn't manage Barnes well either. He was basically shifted to do a sweeper job whilst Can went 1v1 against them. He made a very good block but if we are not to be a pushover against these sides then our centre backs need to be far more robust.

2-1! Yes!
We deserved the win. As per usual, we struggled. I don't know why, but it was the same old story. Thankfully Wijnaldum managed to get the equaliser in the first. Gave us something to build on. Thought we were in charge, but somehow they always felt dangerous. This game was made for Coutinho, but he was invisible all game. Not surprised he was brought off. Klopp had no choice.

Good victory in the end. We had to battle for it, but we got the job done.

Made up for Emre Can today, produced something out of nothing when we were toiling as we usually do against these sides. Still need to find a more reliable way of getting through in this type of game though.

Another poor performance.

Fucking brilliant result.

Makes a very pleasant change to be (almost) outplayed and then take the 3 points. Absolutely chuffed with that.

Couple of things to say about Emre -
1/ He has had a poor season by his own standards.
2/ His head never goes down and he never hides - I like that.
3/ He displays some of what we have been screaming for this season - determination, spirit, will to win etc etc every game.

Oh yeh and up yours to all the haters - that was a brilliant match-winning goal ;D

Anyone else shout "No Emre, No" as he lined that shot up? Shows what I know...

Important three points.  The teams immediately below us have to win both their games in hand in order to get in front, and they aren't games they're guaranteed to win by any stretch.  We need to be better of course, it's about time we got away with one but as we've seen we're likely to come unstuck again if we carry on like that in the games we perceive to be easy.

It seemed strange because Coutinho is a match winner but he was awful, just seemed strange at the time but was good to see Woodburn get minutes.
