Do you honestly believe it would have made any difference?
Of course it does. He's the fucking captain.

We might well do, some of the posts in this thread are absolutely pathetic.

Come on sms, even you would have been disgusted by that half. To be outfought is pretty hard to take here.

Would they have needed to? Hyypia would have stepped up and either cleared the ball early or taken the player. Carra would have taken the player and asked questions later!

Yup - pretty incredible people want to make excuses for our centre backs after that half. Vardy has had 1 shot on target this calendar year before tonight ..... he's had 3 this half and could have had more

pointless to blame Lucas or Mings when the midfield is pathetic

Firmino is far from a poor player, hes decent but it worries me that he is constantly Klopp's go to man up front. He never even subs him never mind leaves him out. The guys is not the central attacker for a team hoping to win things, there are simply not enough goals. He is 8/10 in 30% of games and utter wank in the other 70%.

We have too many mid level technical type players, Coutinho, Lallana, Wijnaldum, who play well with the sun on their back but go missing regularly.

Lets not kid ourselves we are being outfought, outmuscled and most worryingly of all outplayer by an abject Leicester City side.

What is Klopp doing? Does he know how to change things on the fly? The lack of presence in front of our defence is comical, defenders scrambling when the ball is in the air in our box to clear their lines and the ball is freely picked up on the edge of our own box by opposition. This is pretty basic stuff.

Does he know how to organise a defence? I've yet to see evidence of this. Hard running is all well and good, but its a very short term gain tactical approach when your opponents match you in this area.

To beat liverpool you need to press us in all quarters and when the ball is turned over get every man behind the ball and ask us to break you down. When we dither then use your pace on the break. Or else simply lob and few crosses in and see what happens.

Its incredibly basic level stuff that is being overlooked time and time again. Either Klopp is not addressing it on the training ground or else he is unable to. Either way the blame lies at his door for this mess. No excuses

Did you say that in Istanbul? Or after we went 2-0 down the year after?

Yawn.

This isn't Istanbul mate. That team had heart and desire. These lads look like they can't be arsed

But yeah, feel free to talk about something that happened A decade ago to prove your point

Also is Coutinho going to be bothered to get back to form soon?
He's been so poor since coming back hasn't he? I don't think I've seen him play worse for us than that half, he was properly crap.

Stop worrying? We are getting trounced 2-0 here.

Trounced is 4 or 5 nil, 2-0 is hardly a mountain to climb.

I'd take even half of them being "bothered" in this game to be honest. Fine when it comes to the Spurs, and Arsenals and whatnot, but when it comes to these shitty relegation twats, they play like Championship level players.

Carra laying the blame firmly on Lucas but he wouldn't have caught Vardy, neither would Hyypia.

Agree on Carra but I reckon Hyypia would have had the angle covered to stop the run before it happened.

This lot have proved time and time again that they don't have the mentality of the heroes of Istanbul.

Hyperbolic statement of the year? ;D

Really missing Lovren or a CB who can actually defend long balls.

Can easily get back in this, only question is if we can not let any goals.
Is klavan that bad?

We're missing our skipper and our first choice CB partner for Matip. Even so, we've had no cohesion and played completely into their hands.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

2 weeks in the sun convincing eachother that they are good footballers, somebody forgot to mention you have to compete your arse off and stop every attacking moment of the opposition to win a prem match.
We only can that when we know they are a top side. rubbish

Anyone surprised?

I'm surprised that they have been playing like that for 2 months now - I feel so that they're a relegation team since the turning year.    Players are just not that bothered to play as an organised team.   Making too many passes side-to-side, backwards are just a joke.   They've been not a confident team for a while.

I also feel that Klopp has no confidence in using Klavan, Gomez, Stewart (even the same age as Can!), Origi etc.   Hopefully we'll see a different team in the second half.

Some of the comments here are pathetic and some of the excuses for us are even worse. We've had no luck all season with shit like this, having to play a c*nt of a shit who decide they will now start playing. No excuses though to play that bad, gonna set my cat on fire I'm so fucked off.

There is an air of complete inevitability about this hot mess that's been thrown up for us. The first problem is the squad's dysfunction. That they're not winning any challenges means this is going one way.

No point singling out anyone. There's not one single player out there who hasn't been absolutely atrocious. Noone can possibly be safe in this team. Noone.

That would be Peter Noone then, long forgotten

He's had two transfer windows, just for the sake of accuracy.
