Could have been a lot uglier, then when we were gifted a way back in Zlatan spurns two great opportunities for 2-2. Got a bit more even after half time but we never threatened their lead and they were far far better tactically. So disappointing to have set up the way we did before that opening goal, camped in our own half. Mourinho standard in big games of course but usually he's not that bad in the home ones.
Home games against who though? If he feels the threat, he is always negative.
He was laughing at PSG and the French league, and indeed, his Chelsea were PL champions. Yet, he wasn't sure about superiority of his team, it wasn't West Ham his team was playing against. So he went with negative tactics. Same before against Atletico Madrid. Talked shit in the media, but privately, he knew Atletico Madrid was strong, so he went negative and lost at home. Hazard (!) was blamed for not tracking back. Why the fuck would want Hazard to keep tracking back into his penalty area in a home game? And remember that shameful game where he started with 4-6-0 vs a dreadful ManU side?
We can continue with such examples during his Madrid tenure etc. The man is safety first, and that is OK, it is a viable strategy. But let's not say "usually he's not that bad in the home ones". He is. Let him play any of ManCity, PSG, Bayern, Barca, Madrid, Juventus, Borussia, Atletico Madrid etc. play and that will be his default mode.
