First the press conference.  Then the football conference.

Look at their next eight league games:

Stoke H
Newcastle A
WBA H
Sunderland A
Swansea H
Man U A
Spurs A
QPR H

They might manage one win and two draws from that lot, any mix from Sunderland, Swansea and QPR.  The rest, no chance.

I do have some sympathy for him however, as it does mean he'll have to now live in Birmingham.

That is true ;)

In every industry and field unfortunately. Luckily in football, talent usually tells in the end and you can't bullshit away the results.

Still, great to have him back. With Van Gaal channeling Moyes and Sherwood back on the sidelines, all the hilarity of last season is back....

It's more to do with him being an ex-player. He probably gushed about his contacts and how he can get cheap players, and that he has a Premier League winners medal so all he needs is a chance to show what he can do, and he never got that at Spurs, etc.

But England international, Premier league winner, long time in the game as a player, knows a lot of people who can get him players on the cheap = Aston Villa job.
Better looking than Samie.

Dimmy's so stupid he hasn't even realised why no decent manager would touch the job.  That club is in terminal free fall; it's an inevitable consequence of chronic underinvestment.  Doesn't matter how good your players are when they know there's no quality coming in.  FFS Hodgson and the septics managed to dump us into the relegation zone and even Gerrard and Carragher couldn't drag the team back until those obstacles had been removed.

Shocking appointment.

But this is the EPL,it's what's expected with some stupid people in charge of clubs.

In Germany Spain and Italy he wouldn't be allowed to coach a team with his tiny number of coaching badges if he has any, wouldn't surprise me if he didn't even have any.

Sol Campbell will be upset, was in the news today saying he would be interested in the job. :o

New manager bounce. Please. Make it happen Timmy.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

He's a knobhead.

But if he can do a half decent job until the end of the season, taking a point here and there from our rivals, then i wish him well.
That right peg hits it and you see the future arc of the ball and time goes al gluey like a Dali painting, and for a second there's a 20yr old StevenGerrard and your young self cheering him on through the prism. His big smile fades in an the net is shivering and J.Hart's trying not to look grateful for the privilege of being that close to greatness

It will end like Shearer at the Geordies and Pearce at Forest in the 90's both getting relegated.

Villa will godown because they hired a name with no qualifications instead of someone with a managing pedigree.
