He was the man who kept everyone's feet on the ground , there was an occasion where the players didn't get there league winners medals until pre season started as they'd all gone on holiday . After a pre season training session he comes in the changing rooms with a box and starts throwing the medals to each individual player ... these don't count for nothing now he growled at them ....there nothing to do with this season only what's gone before . Kept everyone on there toe, lots of players hated him ( Robbie fowler was one I recall ) in there early days but they came to realise he only was doing it to them to higher and maintain there standards .
A true great of the past up there with shanks , bob , Joe , billy Liddell and kenny but I do wish the club would honour these greats while there still alive . Rip and thanks Bugsy
