That could have been anything if  not for some really bad finishing from both sides.

Win 6 of the last 9 and I think that's enough for top 4 given Arsenal and United's fixtures.

Fair result in the end, Can was a monster out there.  Origi has fallen off a cliff.
Can was immense.  Such a funny player... if he was like this all the time.. well!

Gini also excellent..

Two huge misses in the game though...

They only have 1 game per week since Feb

You can't play the way we do with pretty much the same staring eleven all the time and for not to have an effect. We started showing signs of being leggy around November/December. It's catching up.

how this game finished 1-1 I will never know. Both sides should have scored and had 2 penalties each. Having said that, Adam with the worst miss I have seen since Joe Allen at Goodison, miss of the season.

Can and Gini were fantastic, Can in particular with his best performance this year. I think everyone in the back except Ragnar who was very iffy looked solid,.Matip played well as did Clyne and Milner.

Firmino imo should have scored, Coutinho was disappoi ting and Mane so and so.

Ill take the point.

One of Mane's worst performances for us, poor decision making and overly greedy at times. Not sure how he got MOTM.

Then again, one of the reasons given was his winning of the pen  :o

I suppose so, but then again that's all our difficult games out of the way now. Which on paper should be to our benefit, but usually isn't.

The game we won against Burnley will hopefully turn the tide on winning those other games now. We just have to win as many as we can. The other teams will drop points too.

hes just turned 22, lots of bumps in the road

But he's getting worse.  He's really indecisive on the ball, doesn't use his pace and power and he's not exactly clinical in front of goal.  Think he needs a season on loan where he'll get to play 90 minutes most weeks because it's just not clicking for him at the moment.

Criminal miss from Lallana. I love the guy but that was the easiest chance of the game. Nevertheless, we were pretty fucking good. Origi again seems to have lost a lot of speed for some reason. Looked slow and cumbersome when he came on. Coutinho was routinely creating chances or at least sliding a forward player behind the City line. That completely disappeared when Origi came on. I really liked the guy but he seems to be going backward at the moment. Brilliant from Can in the middle. Brilliant from Bobby up front. Mane was great as well. Overall, can't feel too down about a draw at the Etihad of all places.

Adam Lallana’s inherent Englishness costs us.  An utterly ridiculous miss.

Big Divvy gave us exactly nothing after coming on.

Emre had a good game, other than leaving Silva completely free 12 yards out, due to him being a bit of a dope.
David Platt has a face like a Michael Myers mask being stretched over a dinosaur egg.

That our attack isn't outstanding and it's stupid to cling to such flimsy stats.

Surely that amount of goals we score makes it more than just average or even good. How could we score so many if not?

That being said, our attackers are not in great form. They whole group of them are either picking up knocks, out injured or really low on confidence.

Apart from the finishing, I thought Lallana did very well today. Very impressed with his overall contribution.

Firmino, what the hell has happened to him?

To state the obvious, our bench was so awful there was hardly any options to change the game or inspire confidence. The likes of Lucas, Moreno, TAA, Woodburn, Lovren, Origi is not going to win you games. At the very best it is just fresh legs but at a much lower standard than our first 11.

Neville mixed him up with Firmino I think. Said he gave it for winning the penalty, which was actually Bobby. Don't think Mane was bad btw. His pace constantly caused trouble. What I would do for another player with similar speed.

What a great game. That's what it's all about. Two teams going at it hammer and tongs,  both have their flaws but great to watch. No nonsense or handbags. Guardiola gets stick from some but he's a pretty classy bloke.  Refreshing to not have a big game ruined by negativity and histrionics.

Could have won if we'd taken those chances but City can probably say the same. It's a decent result and caps off our brilliant record against the top 6 nicely.

A nice and fair summary that.

Both sides will rue their missed chances. I'm happy we made a point on Arsenal this weekend anyway, from a harder fixture - hopefully we have enough to stay above United, could quite easily make top four from here if we don't balls it up.

Because we're too attacking!! We have three forwards, two attacking midfielders and two full backs as wingers, no other team plays as attacking as us, we should be leading scorers and then some. The fact is out goal difference is the issue.

4th is really out of our hands now.

Not impressed really. When we go 1 up and city looks on the rocks we could have extended our lead. But instead we went back to our shell.

Man u by winning both games in hand going to climb above us now. Arsenal could equal us on points by doing the same.

We all laugh at how shit Man u is but they might be having the last laugh at the end of the season. And that by playing games in Europa as well.

I honestly think we blew our CL chances today.

I would have took a point before kick off but disappointed now that we didn't win. We're just not clinical enough at times, thought City were there for the taking especially on the breakaway. Thought Can had his best game of the season today and Wijnaldum looked absolutely world class at times.

That bit where Can gave Toure, like, a 10 yard head start and still went past him. That was funny.

A fair result.

No idea what the fuck Mane was doing for around 15 minutes in the 2nd half, though. Each time he got the ball he just slowed it down for no reason whatsoever and kept breaking up our attacks which helped put City on the front foot. Origi was also pretty bad in his cameo, he seems to have gotten slower.
