There is a broader question here, with numerous diverging views, as to what happens next.

I have always felt that action against those who falsified evidence, perverting the course of justice, is the wisest move, and one with the greatest chance of success.

It's not right that, they shouldn't have to pay a penny, they are the victims, not him.

This may put off people from trying to run similar campaigns in the future, if this is what happens. Pigs protecting their own.

When I first read it I thought - and hoped - it was likely to be a mistake, admin error or misinterpretation of the law - but no.

I am a bit shocked that they haven't already reached their target. I would have thought that almost anyone that calls themselves a Liverpool fan would have chucked some money into the pot.

I am so upset that Crompton believes that this is acceptable.
