Two episodes to do. This has been Shakespearean in its brilliance. I'm sure Ciro has echoed Macbeth's words on a few occasions, too. And, just to say again, the sound production on this show is the best I've heard for a long time.

Will read the rest of thread when finished.

Holy shit! Just watched the last 2 episodes and can't wait for season 3. What an ending!!

This and GoT - the 2 best shows and now have to wait until next year for both.

If you haven't seen this, get on it.
Has Steven Gerrard scored a goal even more important than the one he got against Olympiakos - Is this the start of something BIG?

Dont post here much but
Loved The Supranos, Breaking Bad was super,
The Wire was brilliant
But Gomorrah is the best thing I have ever seen.
Just got through both season 1 and 2 in a week.

Cannot wait for season 3 more than anything I have ever watched

Loved the first season of this not seen the 2nd yet, I love the show because it's got The Wire like vibe too it, also is it me or does Don Pietro look like the bloke who manages Napoli.

Love the characters and the storytelling it's a brilliantly written show.

From watching the first season the show seems real, I can actually imagine stuff that happens in the show actually happens in real life in Naples.

One of the problems I had with The Sopranos as much as I loved that show it seemed unrealistic, the Gomorrah on the other hand seems like a real life documentary even though it's a TV show.

Premiered on Sundance last night, which is available only in SD on my cable system.

Weirdly, that seemed to intensify the show, everything dark and low-def...

its the episode where Savastano and Genny are secretly reunited - and then have to go on the run following the shootout in the bar...the closing third of the ep is largely without dialogue but its one of the most tense of the entire series (the soundtrack is used to stunning effect).........Genny's finally emerged from his father's shadow - and his father knows it - the shift in the dynamic between the two defines the rest of the season..

Ah yes of course. Cheers

I even commented on it at the time.  Memory like a goldfish me :)

Fucking Hell

Episode 1 was good but...

Episode 2 was simply a masterpiece of an episode. Can't believe you lads aren't lauding over it big time. Fucking brilliant from start to finish with a little bit of everything in perfect measurements that makes a good crime drama brilliant.

This program is the dogs bollocks and If Vince Gilligan had directed this, the whole world but be going mad for it.

I feel It's only gonna get better if that's possible.

btw, i think it's safe to say episode 2 got the RAWK thumbs up!

Agreed Pete, episode 2 was utterly brilliant. Really excited to see where this series goes.

Still can't get my head around that some of my mates won't watch this as it's subtitled. Madness.

watched the first two last night.....fuck me, episode 2 was stunning...one of the best episodes of any drama i've seen on TV.....looks like the long wait has been worth it, with dividends...

Episode 2 is up there with one of the best tv episodes Ive ever seen.

Watched them both last night.

Totally agree with @Buck Pete and @Pistolero and others. Two masterful episodes. From Ep1 in which Ciro is now in blood stepped so far that he should wade no more, to misquote Shakespeare. Fucking hell! That was grim. Then to Koln and Genny and Don Pietro in the 2nd ep. Just an incredibly compelling piece of drama. The shifting dynamics between the two characters was brilliantly executed. Not a false note throughout. Also, the sound production on this show does something quite remarkable too. I'm not technically of au fait with the jargon to completely express its brilliance, but as a tool for building excitement, unease and tension it's utterly superb. That's without mentioning the cinematography...

Wire levels of brilliance in those opening two episodes.
They have life in them, they have humour, they're arrogant, they're cocky and they're proud. And that's what I want my team to be.

Season 2 Episode 2 was good but for me nothing (so far) beats the finale of season 1

The last couple of scenes in particular.

Spoiler
When Malamore and the rest of the old guard busted A cool , no longer mad Don Pietro from the prison van.  My jaw was on the floor.  Fucking amazing episode and best finale of a TV season I've ever laid eyes on.

Some people said they sussed out Don Pietro was faking madness all along, but not me. I just didn't consider it and it made the ending of season 1 epic for me :)

Still got it on my SKY+ planner to this day.

I was thinking more of the characters. They've gone through more leading characters than a particularly gruesome Greek tragedy.
Unless Ciro makes a return or any of thge surviving street level crews move up it would need pretty much a new cast.
